Bigger MM and PB Jackpots.
Bigger MM and PB jackpots drive sales. That's evident from the various sales reports lotteries, such as Texas, publicly post. However, many players aren't excited about $15 million or whatever anymore; jackpot fatigue.
Doubling the price makes up for less sales during jackpot run ups; higher starting jackpot. While making the odds worse allows for more rollovers.
Super-sized jackpots bring out players in droves. While that doesn't occur often, even if it's just once or twice per year, that

Indiana Scratch-Off Thread
If you knew how the Indiana lottery operates you would cease to play or play very selectively. Case and point look at all the closed scratch offs this year with most closed in their favor of a greater percentage of jackpot prizes remaining then tickets remaining. In some cases it's so bad that you can only assume corruption. With the push for higher profits they have gotten more greedy. Overall I wouldn't play that 30 dollar game as you'll lose more in the long run unless you are lucky enough to

2 mammoth jackpots won this weekend
By Todd Northrop
Two multi-state lottery games gave up millions in their latest drawings as lucky ticketholders snagged the grand prize jackpots.
The first big winner matched all six numbers drawn for the estimated $133 million Mega Millions jackpot Friday night. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at a BP gas station located at 1000 East Southline Road in Tuscola.
The winning Mega Millions numbers were: 13, 21, 28, 34, and 40, with Mega Ball number 15. The Megaplier was 3.

What's your main purpose of logging onto Lotterypost.com
I look to see what's going on and if anyone has figured 'anything' out. I am in a continual debate with my brother (I don't bother with anyone else) about whether or not drawings are 'Random'. First, the Scratch tickets are NOT random - when you put a Guarantee of X amount of winners per pack ? Then, how can that be random? Now, WHERE the ticket packs are distributed? That could be considered random with a jackpot winner every 20,000 pack #s or so, depending on how many jackpots in the game vs.

Are Mega Millions sales really that bad now?
You're only looking at one drawing here or there.
I clearly compared the only three runs with jackpots over $200 million since the last matrix change.
The sales at the start of a run are much lower even with more states.
Did you miss the memo saying there are now a possible 258,890,850 outcomes, sales for Friday were 44 million, about a 17% of chance of a winner, and the numbers on the tickets are only valid for the day of that drawing?
While a portion of the amount of sales is a

help in finding a good software
Last I heard from Scott Piel he was writing inventory software for auto dealers.
As for the 6/37 I'm not really sure what's being asked for and the software is a bit pricy, but there is a demo you can try first to see if it is what you want, go to lotwin.com and get the demo.
Sorry I don't know the full extent of the demo, don't want to overwirte my copy.
With the paid version you select a game, update draws if necessary.
On the left select [Number Filters] then [Number

You Will Never Win A Lottery Jackpot In Your Lifetime.
I understand your point, but I believe Thrifty means just lottery jackpots and not secondary prizes. An average of 20 PB jackpot winners a year might be an exaggeration.
You are most likely correct in the part of the jackpot only winner(s). I would consider winning between 1-5 million a moderately substantial victory towards that achievement although its not the jackpot as advertised from PB or MM . Having an average of 14 jackpot winning tickets per year for the powerball and about the same

Big MM/PB Jackpots: 1 winner, or spread the wealth?
Every time these big half a billion Mega Millions and Powerball Jackpots roll around, there is talk from some to spread the wealth instead of having the lion's share of all the money played going to 1 winner. Others are just the opposite, repulsed by the commie/socialist aspect of such a sentiment. That would be choice #1.
#2 doesn't really work, because if you make the game matrix easier for more people to win, it gets won all the time and hardly rolls over. Big jackpots from many rollovers

Pure unadulterated baloney from Steve Player
joker17,
Let's see where the convoluted logic really is. Prior to tonight (results not in yet) for the game in question these are the Year To Date results:
To date:
149 Jackpots
65 PP
130 QP
Solo jackpots: 113
Shared jackpots: 36
Since that includes shared jackpots, 195 players have won a jackpot or part of a jackpot. Of that 195, 130 played quick picks. Of that 195, 130 played quick picks. Of that 195, 130 played quick picks. Of that 195, 130 played quick picks. Of tha

Mega Millions jackpots
Just a list of MM jackpot history right off the MM website. It seems to me that there seems to be some truth to size of population and jackpots. The bigger the ticket playing population the more winners that state is going to have. Yes we all a have equal chance at winning just buying a ticket, but think of it as lottery pools would you rather be in the 24 28 millions tickets sold in CA and NY for the 333 MM jackpot of 8/28/09 or the 5 3 millons tickets sold in MD WA for that same drawing (info
