Why I think quick picks suck
Texas MadMan Sorry, but I don't think I'm missing your point at all. The premise of your thread is Why I think quick picks suck . The facts are quick picks win most of the jackpots, it's that simple. Replying to that, I said that most jackpot winning tickets are quick picks, which they are. Perhaps what you're really saying without realizing it is the fact that quick picks hit jackpots way more often than non-quick picks is what sucks. If you think that sucks, you've got a lot of

Quick Picks can't match the power of Self Picks
JADE Lottery I see that in another posted topic someone is taking credit for someone else's effort and trying to pass it off as their Quick Pick challenge. That's a really sad attempt to try and convince others that somehow another person's time, money and effort is a means of proving their point. If it's my thread you're talking about you assume much. I'm not taking credit for anything. If you read the OP to my thread the specific numbers aren't what it's about, it's QP jackpots vs cho

What are the Odds: 3 Contractors win 3 of 6 biggest PB & MM Jackpot...
I learned according to RJOH that 2 contractors won 2 of the only 5 biggest PB MM Jackpots ever: (notice 2nd post made by RJOH, mines is the 7th post) https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/151940 Guys, I said earlier that what were the odds that 2 contractors will win 2 of the 5 biggest PB MM Jackpot...I said that i found it really fishy...And someone told me that they were 12 years apart and in 2 different states.... Now with the recent Winner of the record 390 Million dollars MM Jac

Changes in Mega Millions
I didn't vote because I don't think the game will be changed any time soon, if ever. The states in MM are making money. They certainly want more profits, but they are smart enough to know that changing the game matrix often in attempt to build jackpots to a certain level is risky. I read the Texas lottery commission meeting minutes and they believe, and I agree, that players are more apt to spend their money on scratch tickets than take a chance on a lottery game they aren't likely to wi

Anyone else thinking of Euromillions?
No, I don't play Euromillions, because the expectation value, the value of the prize per dollar played, is lower, as one has to pay fees. I choose my plays by expectation value, pretax. Determining expectation values was why I originally began using the poisson distribution I post in my two probability threads. Later, for interest, I began to develop some schemes for determining the likelihood of large jackpots. This helps me to plan my purchases better.I also don't like to trust third parti

It looks as if the $5.00 MM ticket is doing poorly.
Sales are lower. But they are making more money. Do to the price increase. Just one data point, but the first 3 drawings for 400+ had sales of $105 million compared to $117 million for the first 3 drawings for 400 the last time it got there before the price increase. That's just hair under 90%. Looking at PB sales for 3 drawings at 400+ at roughly the same times the more recent run had sales of 88% of the previous sales. Again, that's a limited set of data but it looks like lower MM sal

Texas Lottery Commission votes to ban lottery couriers
Both the lottery and the courier businesses have contributed to errant conducts and behaviors that could be deemed to infringe on the antitrust laws. The conducts, practices and business model of the courier services prevents fairness for the majority of the players and other retailers with just 1 or 2 terminals. The in-advertent accommodation of the courier services business models by the lottery prevents fairness for the brick mortar lottery retailers. The 2020 COVID lock down, gav

Lottery couriers plead with Texas Lottery Commission in last-ditch effort
They need to isolate the problem of buying jackpots from the smaller games that don't have jackpots. People can only profit from buying all possible combinations in jackpot games that increase their prize amounts until someone wins. It makes no sense to apply this law to smaller games like Pick 3 4 because the prize amounts never increase, so there is no point in buying all possible combinations. Having a lot machines in a store is great. Players do not like standing waiting to us

Much Would You Invest?
I discarded my vote. After how long I have been playing I have seen stories on here about people winning two or three times so I can see why you did this poll. As for me, however, I am now playing for more than 100k because I have kicked in enough in the 5 decades I have been playing. I am in on tonights Michigan pot for about 400k. If I actually won I would play for Two more years (depending on the jackpot size) because all the stories I have read about Michigan players winning two or three
