How is it going up so much? The jackpot itself had to increase by $65 million. I thought this time the bonus pool would be really small. The bonus pool is in top of the $65 million needed to get the jackpot to this level so they are expecting to sell well over $100,000,000 tickets already. Brad

I don't believe your statement is accurate. Powerball rules state that only anything in excess of $25 million wagered for the next drawing goes to the bonus pool. So if $50 million were wagered, $25 million would go to the jackpot and the other $25 million would go to the bonus pool. Check it out.

It could be that sales were not as good as expected, and that they just had enough to fund the jackpot and nothing left over for the match 5 bonus pool.

Libra We have a pre-determined set of numbers that we've been playing for years. Now, if the jackpots get higher, then we will add 50 to 100 tickets to the pool and those will all be qp, but the original 100 are numbers we've played regularly since we've began the pool in 1997.

Actually, at any jackpot above 340 million, it will increase only by $25 million per draw, but the jackpot cannot roll by more than $25 million to go over $365 million either. In other words, if the jackpot is $315 million and rolls, and sales can support a $380 million pot, the jackpot will be only $365 million, with the excess cash going to the match 5 bonus pool. If the numbers in the pool are belived to be EXACTLY EQUAL, play random combinations of whatever a reasonable budget allows. WHEN I WON 5/5 I ONLY played 2 SETS of numbers!!! And another time I just missed 5/5 because I didn't wheel my best 6 numbers. Playing in PA I often get 2 or 3 out of 5, on ONE ticket! I am assuming that the 90%/25 theory is not just one drawing?
