New York Lotto Rollover (and Bonus Number) Questions?
The NY lottery works very hard to not reveal useful information. It's probably been 20 years since I last found information about the cash value of the advertised annuity. For that $42.5 million annuity jackpot the official press release doesn't even say how much he got as a lump sum prize. Based on that I'd figure that the only way you'll get any useful and accurate data is by filing a FOIA request. Of course you could always get a copy of the official rules, which would include soe basic info,

Has anyone noticed the change?
OK, so lower interest rates means that more cash is needed to generate the annuity jackpot amount. Why not keep it at the past 62% and just lower the annuity amount ?

Why do jackpot winners feel the need for an attorney or financial adviser?
Take the annuity and avoid all the headaches. Unless you are a financial adviser or somebody in the financial arena, take the annuity. Otherwise there is a good chance you will lose all your money by error, theft, bad investments, bad advice, or/and excessive purchases. You can even lose your life, your spouse due to so much stress right off the bat. Give yourself time to become responsible and educated in the financial area. The first payment is more likely more than enough to live comfortably

If you were a Lucky For Life winner...
Everyone says lump sum but I might strongly consider the annuity. It just feels like payday everytime I receive a check.

If you were a Lucky For Life winner...
Because of my age I would take it lump sum. If I was 20 years younger I would take the annuity.

How soon till the next $ Billion $ Jackpot?
If comrade Bernie was in office even the annuity payments would be taxed at 90% too. Don't forget, the annuity runs for 30 years, and Bernie would be in office for at most 8. What are the odds that whoever got elected after him would have cutting taxes as a top priority?

Don't You Find It Interesting?
I understand what you're saying. I don't understand why people are like animals and fight over something that 90% of them won't win. Also from another discussion on this forum, what is the difference make what people do whether its annuity or cash option. If they take the payments as annuity then they need a will, lawyer, financial consultant and the acct.

Good to know: Fuzzy math advice
Mark Cuban gave good advice about this massive PB. Except for when he said that anyone who wins it should take the annuity.
