Powerball jackpots
Everyone who voted in my pool, whoever voted for 0 rolls past Wednesday's drawing is correct. Unfortunately for me, I was wrong!

Virgin Islands has first $200,000 winner
At least the extra $653,492 was from a common jackpot pool. The normal $1 million prize comes out of the individual jurisdiction's funds.

tickets
That's naturally everyone's biggest worry, and one of the things that I posed some very heavy questioning on. According to them, the people who buy the tickets are under a legal contract, which is all worked out in advance. The good thing about a government lottery is that everything is done very publicly, so there's no way someone can clandestinely claim a jackpot before the rightful owner has a chance to intervene. You can look at it like a lottery pool: if your lottery pool has a written agre

Is Match 5 Bonus Prize a BIG MISTAKE ??
Well, it is and is NOT a big mistake. I like the concept, but they need to take it ONE step further. They recently ended the Ohio regular state lottery here, and on the last draw, there was NO winner of the J/P. So, TPTB distributed the GP among ALL the winners of 3 numbers or more (20 percent of the prize went to each (remaining) prize level, and then was split among THAT prize level's winners, equally). Thus a ticket that normally would get a 1 buck prize, (for 3 numbers) got almost 40 bucks in

Powerball, what if........
...in tonight's drawing, there is only 1 winner with a bizarre set of 5 numbers and only 2 people also match the first 5 bizarre numbers. Does that mean those 2 would share the extra money in the bonus pool? What if (and I know this will not happen) the winner is the only person to only have the first 5 numbers and hit the powerball , would the extra bonus pool also go to that person, or move down to the third tier prizes? Just a question. Good luck to all.

Match 5 bonus Pool
Very interesting point, I think.Makes a historically rare incidence suddenly come to my mind.Just a few months ago...In an Italian lotto called Super Enalotto(6/90), the odds of hitting jackpot is approximately 1 in 622 millions and the second 1 in 100 millions. Hew!!!On June 25, 2005, when the jackpot was hit at 6M euros, the second prize pool was about twice as much if my memory is correct. After several rollovers in both levels, the second prize was finally hit at 28M euros on August 16. At

The impact on you, if you loose, and a pool wins, is???I don't see the difference, to you, if fifty people buy fifty tickets and one wins, or if fifty people pool their fifty numbers and one of those fifty win. Hell, if fifty people tied with the same number, and you lost, your loss is the same loss. It doesn't get any worse, or any better. If some one threw a party at the Waldorf because you lost, it would make no change to the fact that you lost.Dream the dream. Accept the results, win or lose

A Question for some Old Timers
Good luck finding 100 people willing to buy 50 PowerBall tickets on their own and split their winnings with 99 other people they've never met.If you're really interested in trying something like that, it would probably be better to organize 100 people in your area that you know and could watch if you didn't trust them.Todd, the webmaster talked about looking into organizing a LP pool some time back where everyone interested would send their money in ahead of the drawing and an agent for LP would
