Baltimore truck driver wins lottery second time
Congratulations to the anonymous winner. After reading the other story about the guy who went missing in Detroit, I am glad that he is getting to claim anonymously.
Now it is my turn to win . . . . . .

First winner of big Illinois Lotto jackpot didn't let riches change him
While smallish jackpots, say under a million or so, tend to be of little issue to most winners, anything much larger presents huge risks, as the subject of the article experienced - even relatives and close friends can be threats.
Thankfully, lotteries have taken note and are increasingly allowing winners to remain more anonymous than was possible in the past. For example, about a year ago, Pennsylvania stopped publishing winner's full name and city. Winners are identified by first name and i

Would you post a Major Win here on the Forum?
if you win the lottery in California, there is no option for you to be anonymous. The name of the jackpot winner is public information as far as the California lottery is concerned.
here is the winner's handbook: http://static.sc-www.calottery.com/~/media/Publications/Popular_Downloads/winnershandbook_english9-13_sjk_02.pdf

Has any member won more than $100K paying Lotto?
Two members off the top of my head.....one hit $100K on a scratch-off about 3 months ago and another's wife hit $1 million on a QP last year.
I personally haven't hit a jackpot but if I did, I would feel pretty relieved/secure and take all the measures necessary to remain as anonymous as possible.

Most lottery winners live quiet lives.
Yes, it is good that they are helping the less-fortunate. But they seek that attention. They could always make an anonymous donation or ask the organization not to publicize the donation.
Not saying they are not good people, but they like the positive attention and the philanthropist reputation.

800+ Michigan Lottery winners kicked off public assistance in 2013
Wonder if being in an anonymous state would of prevented the media circus.
I would definitely report anything that was more then 50 dollars, even less then that, Don't try to hide anything. Otherwise having any other source of income is really frowned on with entitlements, even if you sell something that is a couple hundred dollars you better check in to make sure.

Powerball or Mega Mililions
Unless someone from here is in one the four anonymous states it would be really hard to hide it, or would it?
A screen name would provide a wee bit of cover but otherwise..........

Puerto Rico joins Powerball today
Don't think so, but I truly don't know if Puerto Rico is anonymous . I know that they don't do press conference and the winners are never mention , only one winner has been made public and that was because he request it. So I don't know if is an official rule or is just courtesy.
In P.R only 40% of the prizes are claimed and that number is one of their best year.

California nail technician wins $228M Powerball jackpot
The winner should be allowed to remain anonymous. If I won that much I would not want my identity published.
Who would want every nutcase knowing they had that much?
