Ma and Pa's on the miracle mile closing
Apparently a family in the area that runs two other stores bought it so it's staying open. I think I read they bought it the day after they closed. http://www.thenorthwestern.com/article/20120629/OSH0101/120629128/Main-Street-fixture-will-stay-open-under-new-owners-Korneli-s-Main-Street-Express-Ma-Pa-sPost Reply

W.Va. Lottery has $81M surplus
I was congratulating WV for running the WV Lottery in the Black! Three days later and you still haven't read the article. It gives some of the reasons why the lottery had a surplus We had anticipated that the competition from Ohio would have accelerated and come on board in December. It did not start until June, and Musgrave said West Virginia's tracks also benefited from the mild winter. Simply put, they underestimated the amount of lottery revenues and you're congratulating them for being

Australian teen lottery winner still goes to work
Yea, actually Aussies didn't get hit as hard from 2008 forward like the US did because they are a commodity exporting country of the highest order. Many valuble materials that you get out of the ground come from there, and being the main exporter of these things to the Chinese have them sitting pretty these days. As far as money changing people for the bad, I think the main topic of the article is how this young lady is well aware of that, and her successful efforts to not let that happen to

Brooklyn teen wins $1,000 a week for life
From the article said he plans to splurge on a new BMW and pay for his college education. New BMW -- BAD idea. Pay for college -- GOOD idea. $32k a year is not enough to live a BMW lifestyle. He would need to work and the lottery will be a great supplement for life. I suspect it will not end well.

N.Y. lottery winner's gain hurts his home town
The article reads: The Heatly School, the district's only school, has 331 students from kindergarten through grade 12. Fifty-nine percent of the students receive free or reduced cost meals. Why are so many children being created by parent(s) who don't have enough pride AND money to pay for the already too highly subsidized daily school and food costs? This 59% should be no more than 20%, in any U.S.A. city!! ... what percentage of these 'sub-parents' are even U.S.A. citizens?
