Ohio Classic Lotto goes more than 2 years without winner
What sucks is you can't buy tickets for this game on The Lotter (I couldn't find it anyway).
I think it's one of those anonymous states everybody likes.

That's the way it should be... compare and contrast the two vastly different stories for this $414 million jackpot.

Remaining anonymous lottery winners in WA state.
It's frustrating to see that in some states you can't remain anonymous, there's some crazy people out there....
In the UK this couple who won 45m decided to stay in their house (even after going public) but one night someone broke into their house.... puts me off ever thinking of going public.

How Many Folks Gave Up On Powerball When It Went To $2?
In the past, probably from 2003-2008, I played the lottery many times. I think 2001 or 2002 was when I first joined this message forum. It has been a couple years since I bought any lottery ticket. I think the last time I played, it was powerball when each ticket was still only $1. The only reason why I played at that time was because it was a group who played and I didn't want to be the one person who didn't play and miss out if the tickets had won a large amount of money. With those kinds of o

Do we really want all states to be able to claim anonymously
I disagree.
I'm not claiming it's better than staying anonymous indefinitely, but it's certainly better than having it released before you even claim the cash. Think about it, the winner would have a chance to become more comfortable with the winfall, relocate and change/unlist addresses and phone numbers, possibly change their name, deal with any money issues before being put in the spotlight and a few other things.

California delivery driver claims half of $648 million jackpot
Lucky him. Not only did he win the money, he has a common enough name in the Vietnamese community that he is essentially anonymous.
Also, a great decision by Mr. Tran to avoid the cameras.

Do we really want all states to be able to claim anonymously
Sometimes it's more than just the people that ask for money, it's the criminal element I'd like to avoid. People that file frivolous lawsuits, hoping that you'll settle, people that target you and your family whether it's to rob you or worse, etc. I remember reading an article where the author recommended kidnap/ransom insurance to big lottery winners. Before I read that article, it didn't occur to me that it would be a possibility.
I would like the option to keep anonymous, but in my state,

Do we really want all states to be able to claim anonymously
We need to copy Australia. Their playslips have a NP' box to check off........No Publicity.
The U.S. states that do allow winners to be anonymous don't seem to be having problems with it, so why not other states?
