LckyLary,Sounds like you're saying rich people don't play games like pick3 hoping to get a box hit for $40, so in those type games, poor people are competing with other poor people, but when the jackpot is $200M or more, the poor people are going to be competing with the rich people so it should be expected a few rich people are going to win once in a while. The nice thing about having a computer is you really don't have to know a lot about statistics to run a simulation to see what happens. If you regularly buy 100 tickets when you play PowerBall, just record them and check them after each drawing. If the older numbers win more than the most recent numbers then you will have one possible answer. I personally think 100 tickets are just as good as any other 100 tickets as long as there aren't any repeated combinations.RJOh

If my dad and I were living in Oregon or Arizona right now, my dad would remind me to buy just one ticket [$1]. Besides RJOh, it only takes one ticket to win the largest jackpot in PB history. If no one wins the PB jackpot this Wednesday, then the North American jackpot record will shatter.

No RJOh, you have it all wrong (the tax part). Our Government is the one to blame for those people not being able to keep those cars! Over taxation (the gift taxes)! Gift taxes can amount up to 50% of the gift! Now that is bad! I can see 200,000.00 or 300,000.00 being taxed at 50% but anything less should be taxed at the rate of 10 - 15%.
