Maryland Mega Millions winners claim prize anonymously
According to the article, they actually made 3 copies of the winning ticket prior to signing those photocopies and not the original ticket. They signed the original ticket once they arrived at Lottery headquarters. It's a good thing Maryland allows winners to claim anonymously

What Is The Best Playing Method To Win A Lottery Jackpot?
I'll try to find the article that said Duke played the 15 most frequent numbers over the last 6 months drawings. I've never read any specifics of how Duke played the 15 numbers but I did read in another article where he played 100 tickets so a 4 if 5 of 15 number abbreviated wheel is an educated guess. http://money.cnn.com/2007/02/20/magazines/fortune/lottery_winnings.fortune/index.htm How to choose my lottery numbers started through a trial and error process. I just started playing numbe

Article on the Los Angeles Times website at 12:30 pacific says that 95% of combinations have been sold. That's from a Mega Millions spokesperson. It also says that if it rolls, they may do the drawing in Times Square next week.

Odd thing I heard from convenience clerk
I remember reading an article some years back on an Oregon lottery winner who won after purchasing $50 of quick-picks at a convenience store. I guess that story stuck with me because I have never considered spending that much money on a big game with astronomical odds. In fact, I wince at the thought of dropping $50 on ANY lottery game.

$290 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot rolls again
The article reads: .... the cash value is blowing the lid off at a whopping $205.5 million. I'm enjoying lots of thoughts about 'post' winning this jackpot tomorrow evening -- it will be an ongoing joyful experience for my family members! Congratulations to last evening's sole Powerball jackpot winning ticket holder(s) -- it's been exactly 2 years since last jackpot winning ticket sold in New Jersey, and the lump sum value is approximately 14% higher this year!

Mega Millions winner forced to split jackpot with co-workers
There's some bad math in this article or I'm just not getting it. If the guy took the cash option which was $24,000,000 after taxes and now has to split it six ways that would be $4,000,000 per person. While I understand there may be attorney fees why would they have to pay taxes on the $4,000,000 individual portions as the taxes were already paid on the $24,000,000. This must be wrong so I'll assume each guy is probably getting about $3,900,000 as it's not going to be over $500,000 for the five

NJ man sued over $38.5M lottery ticket
It sounds as though this lottery pool is too large. How often do you collect more signatures than monies due in your unmanned envelope? The article, above, indicates that not only should each player receive a copy of the front of lottery tickets but also the BACK side of tickets ... I don't know of any machines that do that easily, what a hassle before each drawing, multiple times per week!

Feds seize gambling site Bodog, indict founder
well this is kinda crazy and stupid...but makes me think twice about playing online anymore...I do have one question about this article..why did they single out the state of MARYLAND..I guess if I were to try and read between the lines..looks like it is says that MARYLANDERS likes to play poker online...and ALOT OF THEM...haha Gamblers in Maryland and elsewhere were sent a least $100 million by wire and check from 2005 to 2012, the U.S. Attorney's office said, adding Bodog conducted a $42 mil
