I just wished winners could split the jackpot and take a portion in both cash and annuity, especially when it's over $200M.

New multi-state lottery game launches Sunday
Have they stated if the jackpot is annuity or cash payout? I can't seem to find that anywhere. The advertised amount is an annuity but there is a cash option too....same as Mega Millions (5% graduated, 30-year). All $1 million prizes are cash.

NY Lottery Lump Sum Payout On Scratch Tickets Is Higher. How Come?
The lump sum is the real prize not the annuity even though that's the one advertised......some states invest at different rates thus the annuity is higher. Kind of like the differences between Powerball and Mega Millions. If you adjust the prizes for cost they will still be different due to the way each group invests the pool. If NY scratcher lump sum is higher at the same odds and price then it is a better deal. But many times this will not be the case

NJ Cash 4 Life
I heard annuity is only for 20 years if the person is of young age like 18. So I will take the lump sum. Also NJ state financial situation is not good.If the state go broke your annuity will be in doubt. Also I can shield myself from future tax increases also.

Would you quit your job if you won the lottery?
If how many jackpot winners chose Cash over Annuity is an indication, the majority probably did quit their jobs.
