A new(?) question
Since there's a poll about the same old overused questions, I figured I'd throw out one that I haven't seen before. What you'd do *if* you won a jackpot has been beaten to death, but what would you do *to* win a jackpot? This came out of the story about the 43 yo dying about a year and a half after winning a large jackpot. I'm not nearly old enough for winning but dying 18 months later to be a good deal, but I'm guessing the 18 months between winning the jackpot and dying would be bet

TV station reports on the Kansas Lottery
Justxploring You're really tempting me to suggest a poll or two over in Lottery Discusssion.... A Republican run lottery would offer: (Maybe one big winner and .............) and A Democrat run lottery would offer: (Lots of lesser winners, no big winner, and all the winnings would have the crap taxed out of them!)

Florida Lotto jackpot rolls over to $9 million
s5thomps: I can not answer your question with total certainty but I will give you this. Over the past several months, as I recall, there have been several polls on LP that have asked if you have won x amounts of dollars. One of the choices was over a million. I think that several people answered yes. Obviously, all the poll expected you to do was to check mark your pick. If everyone that answered yes was telling the truth, then it appears that several people have won a lot. Most peopl

The Lottery Board is watching you.
That sounds like something Rodney Dangerfield would have said! Someone needs to do a research paper about lottery commission voyeurs! Actually, I can see times when having a surveillance film of yourself buying a ticket being for your benefit- consider Bob who was posting here, or let's consider someone going through a divorce and someonn related to them hits a jackpot. It would not be far fetched at all for the sleaze that they are divorcing to claim they were the one who hit

What's the longest you've seen a single number not show up in Pick3?
The reason this was posted in the area it was was because I had already posted it in the Pick 3 forum w/ very light response and it was later sidetrack'd. so I posted it elsewhere and it already show'd a better response... until it was moved again to where it get's swallowed up by the everyday posts in the pick3 section. ok, so I'm not sure if my poll is even useful if people didn't really understand my question. I guess I should have been more clear, my bad. I was asking between

If you had a 'system'....
To a limited extent I might consider that the answer depends on what a system that really worked means and what sharing means, but for the most part I think the poll shows that a lot of the people here have no grasp of reality. Even if the hypothetical system only gives you a small edge, anything that lets you turn a profit will let you build it into something that's makes a lot of profit. Once you're making a lot of profit the lottery department and the IRS are likely to notice, and th

Would you loan money to someone to gamble
I responded based solely on the generalized question and not based on the authors personal experience. Its obvious that the question poll needed clarified with , and the known associate will undoubtedly not pay you back, . Each situation is different , with character strengths needing to be wagered against the value of the concern. I dont make blanket statements but rather consider the factors and persons needing the funds. A guy I dated needed 50$ at a casino...he had a knack

No hi-jack! but looking at the poll results right now: Would you play QP or your numbers? Quick Pick [ 5 ] [45.45%] Your numbers [ 6 ] [54.55% I'd say 4545 and 5455 might be a good Pick 4 tonight! somebody help me....

Help me pick a WB number or two
(sigh) Ask a simple question..... RJOh might have the best answer yet... Barbara also... Rick: they all can fit in with my other selections. I didn't really have the time to go back and research everyone else's selections vs. what they hit on. Hence the (supposedly) simple poll I whipped up. I've learned my lesson - to the dart board, Batman.

I really like the new format
Thank you! The things I am most proud of, because I came up with the ideas myself, and they turned out pretty cool are: Getting rid of Quote button, and using Reply for everything.Including/excluding previous poster's text with check button, and having it visually indicate if it's going to be included. (Uses AJAX to go back to the server and redraw the quoted text as you click the checkbox.)Very cool new interface for voting on a poll, with instant redraw once you vote. (Also uses AJAX.
