Single mother's simple error earns her $14 million lottery prize
At the intersection of Fate and Lotto, Thuan Le made a very fortunate error.
The California single mother of four is thanking her lucky stars after mistakenly slipping an extra dollar into the self-service Lotto machine at her local CVS store in Mission Viejo.
That superfluous dollar wound up getting Le the SuperLotto Plus ticket holding the five winning numbers 5, 33, 25, 46, 32 plus the Mega number, 26, selected randomly in the April 24 drawing.
In all, Le won a $14 million jackpot.

One brother convicted, one acquitted in $5M lottery trial
I guess there are two morals to this story.
1) Dont mix crack and scratchies.
If you want to be a crackhead, thats fine. Just be responsible.
If you want to be a scratchead, thats also fine. Again responsibility is key.
But dont mix the two.
2) Never trust a clerk. (Especially a swahili speaking Israeli)
I hate to be a cynic but always assume the clerk doesn't know what the hell they are doing. And that temptation might just be too great for them.
Just today, I asked the cl

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
I was tempted to play the ruby red today.
I will take note of that advice ... the 7's structure is more sequential ...
Do you have a rule of thumb when playing?
Do you set a daily limit? any limit? Or do u just buy a couple here and there and bring them home ...
I usually buy one at a time, and scratch it right there ... if i miss and the next number 1-2 numbers ends with a 5 or a 0 I play ...
Usually backfires if it is the part of the roll that has like 10 misses ... ca

Has anyone ever worked for a Lottery?
Quality control is a VERY important concern with company's producing scratch tickets.
You have to understand that depending on the particular press and game being run, tickets are being produced at the rate of 1+ million/hr. Some very large games can run for several days straight.
The quality(viscosity's) of the inks being used in vat's are checked hourly by the ink tech's.The security inks (covering numbers)are run thru the most rigorous/elaborated test to assure the ticket cannot be broke

Yeah, Matt, how about that big fat wallet pictured on those new tickets? I don't think anyone's will look like that anytime soon
- the new tickets are going to be good for about a few days tops...then back to normal. Used to be a time where you could
count on a good 2 weeks of winning more than average but not these days.
I stood at the machine looking at the selections....tried the new $20 and got two cash stacks...one for $5 and one for $20...
huh??? Rotten. Tried another at anothe

Laid off Oregon man wins $1 million
By Todd Northrop
Laid off since May, Riley Gunn was driving his wife and kids home to their cabin in the woods in southern Oregon after registering for computer programming classes, when he pulled off the freeway to buy corn dogs for the kids.
Knowing his wife would not approve because money was so tight, but feeling he was sure to win, Gunn said Tuesday he bought an $8 lottery ticket, letting the machine pick the numbers.
When he checked online, he found he had won $1 million.

Take the one ticket challenge...buy one and LEAVE.
Buy one from EACH bin and LEAVE if a one ticket challenge isn't good enough.
Can you try it for 2 days max?
Try as many stores as you want BUT buy one out of each bin and go. Go back later on if you want...later on being a couple
hours later, but try it, I'm sure you'll appreciate the results....if not that then will appreciate not dropping $100's into one
machine, at one store, in one stop. You will win and you wil

Texas All or Nothing
Congrats to you Dannyboyhouston. Even though I didn't have a ticket
it was a good feeling to think I was close but then of course I cried like
a baby.
BTW I was just trying to buy a ticket. I ask and they said there was nowhere
to buy one. I looked around the area and didn't see any machine that looked
like it would dispense lottery tickets. The one with the scratch offs was there.
Now that I think about it they shouldn't be able to sell from vending machines.
