Has a Lottery Clerk Ever Attempted to Rip You Off?
It's happened to me twice this year.
Once where a clerk in VA kept my exchange ticket which I related not too long ago and once a couple of weeks ago.
In the recent incident, I sent my wife, who is not a player, (Man, what a segue for a joke!) into a gas station we rarely frequent to cash in a Tennessee Cash ticket. It was a $5 Quick Pick with 2 winners on it. One was 2 numbers which wins a free ticket and one was 3 numbers and the Cash Ball which was worth $11 (pari-mutuel).
I told her

Vt. Lottery computer glitch creates extra winners
Just to keep the facts straight here is what the article said:
Linda Hebert says she didn't think twice when she purchased two nearly identical computer-generated Fast Play tickets...
According to the VT lottery website, this is a Fast Play.

My digit system for pick-5 or pick-6 lottery
RL,
I completely agree with this statement. It's why I play the lottery.
A lottery player considers the odds but plays anyway,
Kind of like a certain paint store worker that may of considered the
odds but choose to sing anyway. And as Forest would say that's all I
got to say about that
This, however, contradicts the above.
A person will win or lose not based on the odds but on the ticket he or she holds
in their hand.
Either you believe the odds are against you, an

How The Winners, Not Numbers, Are Picked. A Theorem.
Nino224,
I have to disagree with your theory about spreading the winners around. Consider that most jackpot winners are quick picks. Now unless you're saying that the lottery powers that be are saying something like, Look, someone in that town with a population of 256 just bought a QP, let's make sure it wins , then the theory isn't valid.
One of the 5 + 1 games covers this on their FAQ page. How come the winner is always in _ _ _ _ _?

Clerk arrested in undercover Lottery sting
I don't have a problem with a lottery official possessing a rigged ticket to set up a thief. I have a problem with the trust that is automatically
assumed when handing a ticket over to the person standing behind the machine. That trust has been violated many, many times...examples
reported here with larger amounts yet, remember?
Imagine the countless times where something like this wasn't reported because the prizes were much less. How easy to say the ticket is not a

'Mind reader' will predict UK Lotto numbers on show Wednesday
So-called mind reader Derren Brown is to perform his most audacious stunt yet predicting the lottery results on his British TV show.
The television personality plans to forecast the Wednesday night draw as it is screened live on BBC1.
And the bearded illusionist will rattle lotto chiefs by telling viewers how to do it. Sadly, Derren will be filmed at a secret location as he predicts the balls tumbling out of the National Lottery machine when it's too late for lottery players to buy a ticke

scratch offs
Some people say first ticket or last ticket in a pack. I don't find that to be true in PA.
Some say in the first 10 tickets will have a winner, semi-true. Depends on what you're looking to win.
I've heard buy at least 5 at a time, you tried that, didn't work. I've tried that before, didn't work.
Some people swear the 10's/100's numbers are the winners...010, 020, 050, 100, 200....
Buy the new ones only for the first week they come out. In PA you can count on good payouts

N.J. store seeking owner of $2.5 million winning lottery ticket
Wanted: The winner of a $2.5 million Pick 6 Lotto ticket.
The Quick Mart on Washington Valley Road has posted a letter from the New Jersey Lottery congratulating the store owners for having sold the top winning ticket in the Dec. 29, 2008, Pick 6 Lotto drawing, but those who work there can't figure out who bought the winning ticket.
When people ask who won, we say, We have no idea,' said Tony Cirelli, a store employee.
The store still has the Pick 6 Lotto winning numbers posted on the

Lotto pet peeves (with vendors & other players)
Wow! Where do I start?
I guess the one thing that annoys me more than any other would be people who are simply too lazy, too busy or too self-important to check their own tickets for winning numbers. The way I see it, the object of the game is to match three or more numbers in order to win a cash prize, so asking someone else to tell you if you've won anything is like asking the dealer if you should hit 18.
Next on my list would be the dishonest cashiers who take advantage of those ment
