Quickpicks Powerball: Lottery Post vs Terminal
Interesting idea. I don't buy enough tickets to do that study.
Another thing I wonder about is have there been Power Ball or Mega Millions winner of jackpots from vending machines, and have any won huge jackpots (say, over $100 million) with a vending machine ticket? I don't think this is something you tested but if you have seen any threads/messages about this topic, can you post a link?

Michigan man wins two lottery jackpots in a month
Winner finds a lucky spot both winning tickets purchased at the same retailer
By Kate Northrop
A Michigan Lottery player is over a million dollars richer after winning not one, but two jackpots in just one month.
It takes some people decades to win their first major lottery prize, and it took less than a month for an anonymous Michigan man to win two jackpots.
The Allegan County resident's most recent win came from a Fast Cash progressive jackpot game he bought at Main Street P

Quick Pick or Pick Your numbers
So I just checked back to 2012. I won't break it down, but from January 2012 through this year so far, there were 56 Texas Lotto jackpots won.
41 were QP, 15 were SP.
73% of the jackpots won were by QP over the past 10 years.

Powerball winners by state
A better gauge would be win ratio, not total number of jackpots.
Indiana was there from the beginning whereas the other states like NY, CA, FL joined years later.
EDIT - Figure out when FL joined and add up the jackpots from that starting point.

Florida Fantasy-5 Players
Think FF5 players in Florida aren't aware that Saturday is the day to play due to large jackpots? (Never less than $200,000)
There have been just three Saturdays in 2021 where there was no jackpot winner causing a rolldown..... All other Saturdays produced jackpots of more than $200,000.
The lottery playing public has a lot more savvy than most think. G5

Lotto Max tonight- Tuesday
Liz, you should not play Lotto Max. The odds are too high. The only reward for high odds is larger jackpots. But you do not need a large jackpot. You are over 60 years of age and will never spend $41 million in your remaining years.
I recommend you play games with jackpots of approximately $1 million. Or, if you like Lotto Max, then play in a group where your share of the jackpot is about $1 million. That is probably your best option. And if you like to play your favorite numbers, some groups

Powerball Is Over Half a Billion Dollars
Was Monday's final total 549? The 570 was already planned about half a day before they had the final total, and they probably have a policy of never changing the initial amount once they make a forecast.
I suspect that typical jumps between jackpots will be smaller now that there are 3 drawings instead of 2. Some people won't spend the extra 50% or they'll wait for an even bigger jackpot before they start playing, and I imagine some people still aren't used to having a drawing on Mondays. Tha

£27 million EuroMillions lottery winner found dead at home
I have a co-worker who also feels lottery jackpots are too large. She believes that none should ever exceed one million dollars, but more important, that no one should have one million dollars. Most of you are already ahead of me - she's a liberal.
Of course, we have another lottery in our state where you can win a minimum jackpot of one million - and the odds of winning it are so much better - but it shouldn't surprise anyone that more people are pouring their money in today's $383M Mega Mil

Florida Fantasy-5 Players
Hi... I didn't see until just now that you had responded to my post about that $234,000+ Free Ticket jackpot winner from 2017 that expired without being cashed in.
You're right. A $234,000+ jackpot win is a WHOPPER of a jackpot, which makes it that much worse that the ticket expired. These days, FF5 jackpots are in the low $200,000 range (many seem to be from $180,000 to $200,000) and the majority of them are split between multiple winners! Jackpots won by one player aren't typical, so for th
