Mega Millions Office Pool Advice
I was in several pools that was that way but I didn't know about it until after the drawing because the person made up or changed the rules to collect more money. I never entered their pools again. We never had any arguments because we never won over a few dollars. Those type of pools work fine until they win something because 1% of nothing is worth the same as 5% of nothing. People act strange when it comes to dividing up a large sum of money. I remember reading about a bunch of steel worke

Lotto Clubs
Before I was retired I participated in several lottery pools at work. One, I put a dollar in twice a week which played the local lottery and others were formed whenever there was a big PowerBall or BigGame jackpot. One or two people were usually in charge and everyone who wanted in contributed the same amount, they bought the tickets, made copies of them for everyone in the pool and the plan was to split the winnings equally, however we never won a jackpot. When the winning was small enough t

Lotto Clubs
RJOH, you are correct. I only get in a pool at work when the Mega Millions is this high and we can draw up a big group of say 30 or more.We have no plan, no strategy, just hoping for luck.My wife had a group up with just 9 people at five per. That was 45 chances. They won back $10 bucks. All I was saying is there is a better chance to break even or even win without spending a lot of money in a group if there is a large number in the group.I only brought this issue up because I knew what this thr

After signing to purchase a new home Friday, Pati and Stephen Kohl said they would have to win the lottery to make ends meet. The next day, they did just that.Stephen Kohl is one of 25 folks who are part a lottery office pool at Wild Flavors Inc. in Erlanger, Ky. The group won Saturdays $12.6 million Lotto South jackpot. Those in the pool chose the lump sum cash option and will receive nearly $177,800 each. This worked out just perfect. We bought a house on Friday and won the lottery on Saturday, s

Mathematical Cost of Playing the Game
solemntruth math works like this.1. Solemntruth form lottery pool team of 12 members.2. Each team member pay him $50 to buy tickets3. He use their $600 (12 x $50) to buy $360 worth of tickets4. Team members share *$360 worth of tickets, solemntruth makes $240. * team member cost for $360 worth of chances $50 = saving of $310 ea. **better math - 12 friends who know each other put $50 in a pool, buy $600 worth of tickets and have even better chance to win something.** team member cost for $600

The Red Powerball Quick Pick Option
I have bought Mega Millions tickets for groups in the past and I have tried two different approaches. One approach is to buy all the Mega balls. One time I collected $100 for the office pool and bought 104 tickets because I was guarenteed to win at least $4. This way one gets to buy more tickets especially for very large jackpots rather than spend the $4 in the following draw for a small jackpot. The size of the jackpot matters when dealing with office pools. The jackpot was so large at the time

The total prize pool is 40% of sales. I don't even think of playing it until the jackpot reaches $35 million.
