Retired Illinois couple share $656M lottery jackpot
Congrats to the Butler's!! I'm sure they will continue to live in Red Bud, but they will probably have a couple other vacation homes to escape to for some peace and quiet. I'd head out on at least a month long vacation to avoid some attention for a while. I know a nice little place in central Ohio you can stay if you want to just be anonymous for a few weeks. Just throwing it out there in case they read this thread.

Retired Illinois couple share $656M lottery jackpot
By today's standards, this is a young couple. Why should they let all the gloom and doom naysayers influence their staying in Red Bud? They should park their ass's right where they are now. This will piss off all the pro anonymous people. They'll get over it!

Winners of big lottery jackpots often crave anonymity amid challenges to do so
Well, when you see the parade of winners are people like T. Ramirez, Willy Johnson, Leroy Wilson, Han Ko, Tom McIlroy, etc. it lets us Illinoisians know that the anonymous winners like folks like Rahman Emmanuel, Barack Obama, Pat Quinn, Rachel Quinn, Sasha Obama, Joe Biden, or any of the Daly or Blagoaviche family. Hardly a year can pass in Illinois without someone not being indicted for corruption. Just because something bad happened to one guy does not mean the ultimate winner against astrono

Maryland Mega Millions winners claim prize anonymously
I'm happy for the winners. i too think they gave too much information especially telling about their current jobs in the school system. I pray they can remain anonymous. Wow, almost $35 million after taxes. ( I realize that does not include their total liability for the 2012 calendar year.) would be curious to read about their lives a year from now.

Maryland Mega Millions winners claim prize anonymously
Life is tougher on stupid people, whether they win the lottery or not, and whether they can be anonymous after winning or not. Some people are stupid enough to stay in the same house or move just a few blocks away and then start spending 10 times as much as they used to. Others are clever enough to move further away and/or be more discreet. Some people make big changes immediately, and others have the sense to wait a while. It's really not that difficult at all to keep people from knowing your f

You need to grasp the fact that not everybody would be tooling around their town in a new Mercedes or buying a million dollar house in that town. And those who do feel so inclined and want to remain anonymous would be smart enough to move out of town. Plus, there's a significant difference between some people in your town knowing you're a big jackpot winner and your name being plastered all over the national media in newspapers, on television, and on internet sites...like this one.

If a woman that knew she did not win could go through the process of claiming she won you don't think that someone will take the chance on suing over a $200 million jackpot? Seriously? Stop being stupid, how are you going to remain anonymous when you went from making $15,000 to $40,000 a year to having $35 million in the bank? I think people might figure it out when you start driving a new Mercedes or buy a million dollar house.
