So you won the lottery.
I came across this article in Maxim Magazine a while back. IT was a story on the nightmares that followed winning the lottery. It also has some important advice from the Sudden Money Institute, which specializes in counseling big winners. Unfortunately, I cannot post the link to said article. However, if interested, please PM me. I welcome your comments.

Unclaimed lottery tickets
We have read many articles here at LP where lottery tickets go unclaimed and I found an article where players in Austrailia have what appears to be an unlimited amount of time to claim their lottery winnings. This article says that officials are still looking for winners from 2001 (1 million) and 2004 (23.4 million). How much time do you think should someone be given to turn in a lottery ticket?

Clash over $1 million lottery ticket outlives buyer
Maybe I mis-read the article, but I only saw one person pass on in the article...The guy who contended original ownership . Where is the other death or person to whom you reference?

a computerized drawing is a computerized drawing period.rdc137 i appreciate the article and i see they take good measures but it will never be the same as a ball drawing and yes it can be tampered with regardless of what they are saying in the article.......

8 lottery winners who lost their millions
The article highlights the *unfortunate* mistakes some folks make when making investments. I would absolutely love to get an autograph of a person who hasn't made a mistake or made a poor investment choice. The article highlighted and the folks readily admit that hind-sight is 20/20 when it came to their poor choices. They gained wisdom which can be bought at the price of making a mistake. They just paid more for that dose of wisdom :)

Having a lottery machine: Now that's the ticket
Since this article, today was the first chance I had. So, I bought an instant ticket and asked the guy to scan it for me. He looked surprised. Like maybe I should scratch it first - then he could scan it.I told him about this article and he said they need the 5 digit number under the part you scratch. And that in MI you can't scan before hand to see if it is a winner.Anyone find anything out to the contrary (in MI)?

Penn. woman wins lottery prize of $1,000 a week for life
OK...I answered my own question by reading the whole article...she gets a $52,000.00 check once a year for twenty years. (It pays to actually read the whole article.) PA is up and up...good. I have to get some Powerball Tickets, nobody hit Saturday night.
