Congratulations to the lucky winner. His story sends out a gleamer of hope for others in similar situations. For every winner like him there are probably a million others who spent a portion of what little they had left in their budget on lottery tickets. 99.99% of the time the results aren't quite life changing like Mr Gunn. This gentleman definitely needs to sit down with a financial advisor to figure out a game plan for his funds before it all disappears.

Ohio does that with their Classic Lotto game. I guess they don't want to be changing the formula every time the annuity rate change so they state on their website cash value is 50%.

The name of this game pretty much sums it up, but that hasn't stopped people from playing millions on PB and MM. If players prefer to play for life changing jackpots, all the lotteries will accommodate them. Those playing for the secondary prizes can get much better odds by playing other games.

Coin, Playing a full 28 number wheel with 98,280 combos and matching all five numbers gives a 1 in 46 chance of hitting the jackpot so even if a player could match all five numbers once out of every three drawings, it would have no effect on the game. Any group of 28 numbers has a 1 in 39 chance of matching all five numbers and so does any group of 98,280 QPs even if the QPs are bought by 98,280 different players. I won $25 on the state Weekly Grand game. I usually only play one ticket per draw, but I've won a LOT more on it than with Powerball and Megamillions combined, so I'm thinking I should buy an extra ticket every now and then. The only downer is that the maximum prize on that one is $52K which really isn't life changing.

Personally I don't care for either game because of their daily drawings which makes keeping their data files updated a lot of work. Besides, their payouts aren't life changing. Jackpot games with two or three drawings per week are more my speed since there's time between drawings to think about my next move.
