The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Florida Raffle 2026: What are the odds?
The return of the Florida Lottery Raffle certainly caught my eye. I have thought about the raffle in years past, but did not realize it had been 20 years since the last one. It looks like they have re-vamped the format (multiple drawings instead of one drawing, multiple million-dollar prizes, all tickets purchased valid for all drawings.) But I am curious as to how they have calculated the odds.
Now, I have played the Florida Lottery Jackpot Trip

Florida lottery to roll out new game
Why is everyone so excited? This game is three times harder to win than Lucky Money was (more on the FL Lottery's distorted oddsmaking logic in a minute). First you have to understand why they couldn't end the Lucky Money game fast enough- they were losing money on more than half of the jackpots over the last two years. A quick look at the official game rules to find out the takeout percentages made it easy for me to figure out - because the jackpot started at $500,000- that a $1,000,000 dollar

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
Playing more tickets increases a persons chances of winning but does not affect the odds for the game.
Buying more tickets gives a slightly better percentage chance of winning, but it doesn't change the fact there is still only one way to win. If 100 chances out of 1000 chances are purchased, the overall chances are 10% or 1 in 10. There can only be one winning chance out of the 100 chances and there are still 900 chances of losing. If the odds were expressed of chances of losing (900) comp

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Sure, only one of your bets can win, but you've placed five.
First you said it's impossible to change the odds but after I demonstrated how making four additional bets lowers the number of chances against and does change the odds against winning, you're now saying if I make two bets, the odds are lowered to 18 to 1 as if 18 of the possible losing outcomes magically disappeared. It's an accumulative effect because the odds against any of the five numbers winning is still 37 to 1. The reducti

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Better odds do not exist because you say so. And really, that's been the crux of your argument: I get better odds because I say so.
Positive results do not equate to better odds . Odds are the probability that something WILL happen, results are what you get AFTER something already happened. The only way you can alter the odds of winning is by altering the actual game matrix, and since you are not on the board of MUSL, you cannot do that. The only way you can alter your own personal odds is

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
Since dice have been mentioned here, the payout for hitting a 12 or 2 (not the odds, the payout, follow aliong) is 30 TO 1. This is expressed as 30:1.
With Craps when a player makes a prop bet and wins, they are given the odds payoff marked on the table. If they bet a $5 red chip on the 12 , midnight, or boxcars and it's rolled, the player is given $150 in chips and his original $5 bet remains on the 12 . The player has the option to pocket the chip, let it remain or add to the bet. In Roul

Quick decision: New Ark. Lottery chief recommends Powerball
I understand multi-state games like PB and MM have to have higher odds than individual states games with lower odds. But what was wrong with 5/55 + 1/42 PB prior to January 2009, or even 5/53 + 1/42 PB prior to August 2005 with jackpot odds of 1/120 million? PB jackpots haven't been any higher since January than what they were a year ago before the latest matrix expansion. The number of jackpot winners have been roughly the same too (June 2008 - June 2009). Jackpot odds jumping from 1/120 millio

PLaying STATE lotteries Versus PowerBall/Mega Millions ?
If you think too practically you'll come to the conclusion that the odds are always against you and you'll end up with more money by just saving what you'd spend on tickets, but as long as you are going to play it makes sense to balance the odds against the possible payout.
Since I'm in NY I'll play lotto and/or MM depending on the jackpot. The odds in lotto are about 1 in 22.5 million (you're using the odds for a single set of numbers, but since you play two combinations for $1 the odd

Against all Odds
Hey Everyone,
This is a bit on and off topic about beating odds!
Years ago I was told by doctors that I had a slim to none chance of having a child, I was 30 years old and having problems.
Six years ago I was told that the disease I suffered with had no known cause and no known cure and is labeled by the medical community as an orphan disease. Yes this disease almost took my life and just recently a 26 year old woman died from the same disease called Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I totall

would they make money.....
Almost every state has the same payout structure for Pick 3...which is normally half the odds per dollar wagered. A straight bet has odds of 1 in 1000 so it pays $500. A boxed no-match has odds of 1 in 167 and pays around $83, a boxed double has odds of 1 in 333 and pays right around $167. The front, back and split pair bets have odds of 1 in 100 which pays $50 in most states.
If you could wager on a single digit in a specified position, then it should probably pay $5 on a one dollar bet
