Semantics. First, it WAS OUR money. It is money they screwed the government out of - taxpayers would have to somehow dig deep to make up almost $1 million dollars if the government doesn't get it back. Unfortunately, whether we like certain laws or not, you certainly are not going to change anything by posting to a news article on the net.

Todd posted an article recently about Powerball and Mega Millions expanding plus a national lottery being launched later this year. Anybody know if Florida is getting Mega and what's the status on the national thing?

Hi Lex113 It's Mr. Lotto and his article is usually on a Wednesday in the NY Daily News. He puts out helpful stats and info, doesn't predict numbers or anything like that. Good Luck.

Illinois seceded from the United States? Must have missed it on the news. Of course you have to report ANY LOTTERY WINNINGS to the IRS! What do you think the article that I linked was saying? You can probably get away with not paying but it isn't legal!

While it's obviously possible (and perhaps even probable if lotteries exist long enough), anyone who thinks a random game has any real chance of producing a dozen jackpot winners doesn't understand how random probability works. If the entire game was completely random, the probability of a dozen winners would probably make the odds for PB look like a sure thing.
