Neck and Neck
It is interesting to see both games rolling with similar jackpots, and I think we will see this happening more often now that both games have similar odds. One issue that MUSL wants to avoid is the cannibalization of one game over the other, as that actual harms revenues when players flock to the game with higher jackpot. When both games have high jackpots then players play both and this results in more money going to the participating jurisdictions.
I am not sure about this round but eventua

when will the new matrix for PB get won?
I don't see how they can say the jackpot odds for PB are just slightly higher than MM. (1:259M vs 1:293M).
There are almost as many white balls and almost twice as many red balls.
My prediction is PB jackpots will be hit about 40% less than MM jackpots are won.
Interestingly enough, there have been 3 separate PB 5/5 winners in CA since the matrix change. Each one was about $330K, still putting them below the 5/5 being hit a single time in a non 'pari-mutuel' state.

$301 MILLION: Huge Powerball jackpot on tap for this week
SCEL released this today.
For players spending the extra $1 for PowerPlay , a new 10X multiplier will be added to the mix when jackpots are $150 million or less. This means players matching four numbers and the red Powerball number could win up to $500,000, that s up from $50,000. The 10X multiplier disappears when jackpots exceed $150 million.
This jackpot already exceeds that.

Powerball change?
This is part of an e-mail from the Illinois lottery:
Changes are coming to POWERBALL!
Changes are coming to Powerball! If you subscribe to this jackpot game, you may have noticed changes in your subscription options. Join me in Hoping " Big time" that a LP member wins either MM/PB soon..
I remember when Ohio Super Lotto(6/49+1) had jackpots of $50M+ that was won a lot by out of state players and to please some local players a cap of $20M was put on the most one ticket could win which destroyed the game because the large jackpots were generated mostly by out of state players.
While this wouldn't be the case of a non American sharing the jackpot, players are always envious of someone not from their state winning the jackpot knowing that 60%+ of their state sales went into it.

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
Picked up 5 scratchers Sunday afternoon. Two 50X the Cash, two Million Dollar Jackpots and one Deluxe 7 Playbook.
Won $100 on one of the 50X the Cash. Won $25 on one of the Million Dollar Jackpots. Got a push on the Deluxe 7. So grand total $145.00 cashed in this afternoon.
Again on the losing tickets the number 14 was present, but no 14's on the Winners.
With the winnings I bought four 20X the Cash, each one was a loser and the number 14 was on each losing scratcher.

Camelot to change UK Lottery from 6/49 draw to 6/59 draw!
How so? When the EM jackpot is 15 million it rolls to ~27 next. If you compare 2012 jackpot levels with the current ones I don't see that much of a change.
If your claim is that introduction of Eurojackpot poached players that's not all that possible.
In Spain you can play both games, in austrian and swiss bordertowns people could buy tickets in Germany, as could belgian players.
But the big ticket buyers UK and France would still fuel jackpots, and with the Euromillions jackpots always

Powerball to end its run tonight!
Boo ya!
Go research it, but I believe there has NEVER been an instance in the history of both games where when both jackpots were above $150 million and one was won but the other wasn't on it's very next drawing. When one game is won, the other becomes way too easy to win because of the fix
Now that both jackpots are at mins, the fix will be more powerful than ever, it's going to be so easy for some people to win that it's not even funny. If you don't believe there's a conspiracy to keep

Powerball Matrix Change - April 15, 2015
players only wait for the bigger jackpots because they know they won't win any of the lower prizes. True
So the idea is that by improving overall odds, this will encourage player retention at the lower jackpots. I wouldn't bet on it!
It actually makes sense, but I still don't think it will solve jackpot fatigue. No it doesn't. I have explained what is causing that jackpot fatigue, the same places winning consistently, that is where your problem is.

Florida snags the 80m dollar Powerball Jackpot
Just to add ... it has never bothered me what state wins more jackpots ... to me, it's all about the odds ... I fully understand that the states that have a higher population will probably win more jackpots overall.
Each player has to decide where their money might finally bring in a winner ... I have played for many years waiting for Lady Luck to show up ... I feel now, more than ever, I have to work the odds and maybe LL will finally make an appearance.
It probably won't be the huge jack
