lol I guess it is sad that the only way they could justify a higher opening jackpot and rollovers to go with the increased combinations was by inflating the annuity. Unlike Mega Millions, they can't justify it off the strength of their own player base. Also, Mega Millions will roll when it gets past $300 million sometime; it just hasn't happened yet. Powerball lottery jackpot raised to $117 millionReply
I see a lot of you people on this site a lot, maybe you can answer a odd question for me. The Powerball is at 117 Million but the cash payout is only 53.5 million. I thought the cash was a little over half of what the projected jackpot was. If you look at Mega Millions its at 96Million and cash is 56 million. So why is cash more with Mega Millions than Powerball? Maybe I'm better off going to the state line and playing Mega Millions than my own States Powerball. That and WI hasn't had a big winn

I'm not surprised that NC picked Powerball. SC has Powerball and Virginia have Mega Millions. Charlotte is the largest city in NC and the closest to SC. That way it will keep the NC people in NC and SC people in SC.If NC had chosen Mega Millions, people from SC will come to NC to play Mega Millions and NC people would go to SC to play Powerball. People will play both. It would have been a lottery war.I'm sure that was a big factor too.
