How has the Wyoming Lottery impacted on Utah?
Ohio players felt the same way when Ohio had its Super Lotto Plus(6/49+1) game and out of state players would win. During those days the game had a starting jackpot of $5M, rolled at least $2M and was was won every month with jackpots of $20M+. After the game jackpot was capped at $20M and neighboring states got PowerBall and BigGame and their players stop coming Ohio couldn't afford to keep SLP with it jackpot minimums and the game was replaced. Today Ohio has Classic Lotto(6/49) with a star

When you purchase your MM/PB tickets are you not...
I'll take whatever I can get.- So will l. But the topic is Not will you take whatever you can get Z, its about envisioning larger jackpots and that is what rollovers are all about. It is as l said No One, and l mean No One bemoans the jackpots rolling over, BUT how would they roll over if everyone playing won every time? That is why l pointed out deep down folks are hoping that the JP's rise. No disrespect but those responding here need To see the Forest from the Trees ..

Mathematics and the Lottery
I've never developed an algorithm for playing any game including Ohio's Classic Lotto. Lately I haven't been playing OCL because its jackpots have been less than $2M and their cash value are 50%. Except for Ohio's Rolling Cash5, I prefer to play jackpot games with a potential of winning $1M cash and right now MM and PB are the only ones. While I don't have an algorithm I have developed a set of rules using history, mathematics and observations to pick combinations I play and they are constant

States that win too often should be punished.
State lotteries are thrilled when there is a big winner. They know that it keeps the dream alive for everyone else that plays. In fact, when I'm reading the Tx Lottery Commission meeting minutes, if sales are down because the MM and PB jackpots have been low, they're hoping for a big rollover run to pump up jackpots. I'm surprised that on a website about lotteries that there are actually people that just don't seem to grasp how lotteries work and what they are about. I have to laugh at some o

why can't the lottery make a better odds game?
Well, PB and MM have a lot of second prize winners every year. Many states have their own lotto jackpots with lower odds. Many states have Hot Lotto. Frankly, I think there are probably too many games to play. I play all the jackpot games in Tx, but I usually play 1 or 2 dollars each time. After the Monopoly Millionaire fiasco, don't look for MUSL to try that again. And despite what a few say about more people winning a million dollars instead of one person winning millions, the fact is wh

Mega Millions And Powerball Jackpot Won Back To Back In New York.
I think there should be different games. 2$ for huge jackpots with impossible odds like MM or PB. 2-4$ games with odds of 1:50 000 000 with 10 set jackpots at 5 mil $ or so, with guaranteed winners each drawing, th computer eliminates combos that have already been entered. Lots of people say they want a game like this and the comissions never listen.

is it better to play the Powerball or Megamillions?
i was doing some figuring and if you match the first 5 numbers of the powerball then you have a 1 in 35 chance to win the big one since there are 35 powerball red number balls. now...on the other hand if you match the first 5 numbers on the megamillions then you have a 1 in 15 chance to match the mega ball since there are 15 mega balls. the powerball jackpots start at $40 million and can get big really fast and cross $100+ million in just a couple weeks then grow massive after each drawing wh

$HALF-BILLION! Powerball raised again on monster sales
I don't wish for 5 winners at $40 million, but I would for 5 winners at $400 million. I just like the idea of having more winners rather than larger jackpots. Those 5 winners at $400 million would also have a lot more money per person than if they all won at the same time for a $40 million jackpot. In fact, I'd be happy if odds were made better for players and jackpots never went over $40 million. Not really sure why it matters what someone's opinion on the matter is. Neither one is right or

Billion dollar Jackpot
As of this very moment there's about a 50% chance that it will roll again. A couple of years ago I'd have figured that a rollover when it was already at 500+ would almost certainly mean reaching a billion, but now I'm very skeptical. It's looking like tonight's final tally won't be very much past 500, for an increase of only 105 to 130 million from the last one. That's half of what we saw for the record PB jackpot in November 2012. I expect that 2 more rolls would finally push it to a billion

I am on a losing streak
Hi Romancandle, i still think there would be jackpots even if people win the low prizes. On every draw there will always be people who will win something and the jackpots will never be easy to win with the matrix being nearly impossible to win the jackpot on MM or soon on PB. The lottery will always make sure they are the ones making out, otherwise what would be the point of them having the business. I still think lotteries just want to continue to make the odds impossible for the averag
