Be Proud...
^ The problem is with them, not the fame or money. If you have problems with yourself...then you are going to still have them with fame and money. I have never heard from a person who has claimed and stayed anonymous...so I don't know...I have known millionaires who are famous in my community and they are fine. The lottery is not a curse, one makes it that way with their thinking and actions.

Store clerk is winner of $258.5M Powerball lottery jackpot
Read an updated story on the winner (wouldn't let me post it here); seems like a great guy. Hope he gets the right (honest) advisors. I do wish he had remained anonymous; I think all this would be easier for him (or anyone else) to deal with, but maybe you don't have that option in Missouri.

How will you disquise yourself for a press conference to claim a large lottery win?
OK THE DAY I retire ALL my postal stuff has got to go!!!! You put on your uniform and all your old customers may see you and say HEY he looks familiar! Isn't that so and so? LOL so much for being in disguise and remaining anonymous.

Virginia man claims $200M Mega Millions lottery jackpot
This is why I'm happy NC has MM now. I always played driving through VA, but got nervous when I discovered you couldn't be anonymous when you claimed it. Hmmm....maybe that's why I didn't win....YET!

Virginia man claims $200M Mega Millions lottery jackpot
Agreed. But I'm also realistic. I just simply vote with my money. I buy my MM/PB tickets in a state that allow winners to remain anonymous.

Store clerk stole $100,000 in lottery tickets, police say
A Hamilton County judge ordered her to repay the money to the company or its insurance company, perform 500 hours of community service and attend Gamblers Anonymous weekly. She was ordered not to frequent any river boat casinos in Indiana. I hope she gets the help she needs but I think she needs to spend some time in jail - knowing she has to pay back $100,000 isn't gonna stop her from gambling

You just won the 13 million NET dollar JP
Definately, However they would think it was a scam because it would be totally anonymous and they'd wonder how their bills suddenly got paid.

The Massachusetts Lottery May Be The Way To Go!
Adjusting to a major win: Winning the lottery sounds fantastic, but it isn t easy coming to terms with such a life-changing stroke of luck. It s our job to take the worry out of it. Some of the most common questions are around investment plans, trust funds and how inheritance tax works, but I have also been asked where to go to buy the most expensive pair of shoes in Liverpool! On taking publicity: Obviously we do like people to share the news of their win and opt for publicity

Anonymity
I would write one hellava letter that they would NEVER forget, to the State of Florida, then.... and tell them the law needs to be changed. I think you should be able to be completely anonymous if you want to. You can here. My city of residence is 1,200 people. My name and town is all it would take to find me. I don't even want the people in my town to know I've won. lol
