Expecting to win?
LOL rdgrnr! Maybe it's like finding one pretzel nugget in a bag of twists. Has anyone ever done
that? I'm going to use that analogy instead. First you have to like and buy pretzels. Second it can only
be the brand with the blue bag....I've never seen a nugget in a bag of twists from another company. I think
they do it to be funny...I didn't think it was funny the first time I found one though..I hate the nuggets.
I'm using this example because winning the lottery for some people may

If you had 10 bucks to bet...
Ok, now this gets a bit more abstract.
When we posted the poll, we could have said, What s the better bet? 1 Wingdebing / 10 Zibdo or 10 Wingdebing / 1 Zibdo
In that, could you say for absolute certainty that a Wingdebing is or really determine what a Zibdo is?
I could have reversed the order from what you may think it is.
Ultimately, you can t say what they mean, and I won t say either because I don t speak Jibber-Jab.
To that end, when we look at the probability,

What Does It Take To Win (Mathematically Speaking?)
Jimboo-boo!!!!!!
Did some backtest on this post. If my numbers are right, the verdict is: Go to Systems fo and post a poll to find out what 'normal' systems players do. Pretty sound backtesting, huh?
This just in! You can't backtest Quick Picks! Details at your local lottery terminal. Now for the latest, let's use the 70/30 rule.
70 people have Quick Picks, 30 people have personal picks. A Quick Pick wins. So what do we have?
We have 30 people with personal picks who lost, and 69 peo

Powerball Jackpot..Dream vs Reality...?
$155 Million.
Even with what you'll get to call your own, it's a lot of money.
Who has a dream list of what they'll do first?
Who is waiting to hit it to figure that one out?
You know what the chances are but, have you really considered just how much money that is and what it will mean if you win it?
The dream is to win it and spend it.
The reality is much more complicated.
I guess I should have made a poll type thread but which best fits you when you win?

Mass. Lottery ad creates election controversy
Includes video report
Just 18 days ahead of Election Day, the Massachusetts Lottery now says it is pulling its ads from the air after accusations that the Cahill campaign may have been trying to benefit from them.
Massachusetts state attorney general Martha Coakley will be investigating to see if there was any collaboration between Cahill's campaign and the state lottery. As part of his job as Massachusetts treasurer, Cahill oversees the lottery and has agreed to pull the multi-million d

If All 80,000 Members of LP Dedicated to Systems for PB and Pick6 We will Win it Everyday
Please tell me how YOUR method of discarding some of these 16 would have resulted in MORE PROFIT during the 8 year dry spell you refer to!
I don't have a method; I just know how players use TTTs. They can use up to 9 different digits in their workout, as low as 3, or a number in between. Some players make one every day, others once a week, or once a month like Twedk is doing. If they use 9 different digits to play in the next drawing, the probability against not matching 3 of those digits i

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
rcbbuckeye,
Why would that sentence be troubling?
This is the nitty-gritty!
First of all, you are surely aware that 186 draws is a tiny number in light of the typical Pick-5 which has between 500,000 and a million possibilities. Believe it or not, what we are discussing here is the FUNDAMENTAL question that needs to be answered to understand completely everything that is being debated in this Forum [and others!]
You apparently have written computer programs (as I have) or have acce

How to be a charter member in the Stroker Club
In gambling terms a stroker is a player who makes themselves a pain in the keister to the dealers. They try to get the dealers to do as much work as they can make them do for the littlest amount they can wager. They are also known as fleas, as in fleas hang around a table. Sometimes it takes awhile but in the long run Security always 86's them.
For the last money or so there has been a little hostility here, caused by just a few individuals.
To be polite, I'll describe it this way instead

Why do people play QP's?
The poll question is why do people play quick picks.
Using the Illinois Pick 5 game as an example, because it is drawn daily, these are the results as of July 5 2010.
To date:
81 Jackpots
38 PP
66 QP
Solo jackpots: 63
Shared jackpots: 18
Highest jackpot:
$625,000, one winner on May 11
The game is drawn every day, July 5th was the 186th day of the year, so a jackpot has been paid every 2.29 days.
Of the jackpots 66, or 81.48% were QP. 38, or 46.91% were player's p
