Lessons Learned: Lottery winners should never eat their seed corn
You surely have fantasized about what you'd do after winning one of the big lotteries.
First, of course, on your buy list would be a hot, red convertible. Then, when spring arrives, you and a significant other could drive the convertible to Winter Park in the Denver area, to shop for a log second home in the $400,000 price range.
With that mission accomplished, you might return to Nebraska and pay off the mortgage of every family member.
Finally, you'd schedule a friends-and-family Cari

In the early 1920s, Casper Holstein, a black man from the Danish West Indies who worked as a porter for a Fifth Avenue store, liked to study the Clearing House totals published in a year's worth of newspapers he'd saved. The Clearing House was an operation that managed the exchanges of money among New York City banks on a daily basis. It occurred to Holstein that the numbers printed were different every day.
Until then, lottery games existed, but the winning numbers we

New York seizes $20 million in lottery prizes from people on public assistance
New York state has reclaimed nearly $20 million in lottery prizes since 2013 from winners who had received public assistance in the last 10 years.
The little-known program, one of the toughest of its kind in the country, has grabbed back prizes from an estimated 30,000 winners in the last four years.
At least six other states have similar programs, but New York is the only state that seizes prizes of those on public assistance, experts said. Other programs take back unpaid child support pa

You re probably all too familiar with what happens when Mercury goes retrograde, but did you know that all the other planets (except for our solar system s star, the Sun, and our own planet s satellite, the Moon) turn retrograde too? With more money, more problems? Managing a windfall
A chance to split a $380 million jackpot. Where's the problem in that?
Sure the money will change the lives of the Mega Millions lottery winners, but it's imperative that they have a sound financial plan. Failure to map out a strategy for their winnings could lead to misery.
A retired man in Washington, Jim McCullar, claimed his prize on Thursday, while the Idaho ticket holder has yet to surface.
The delay in coming forward after Tuesday's drawing means the winners are likely following
