If MUSL ever eliminated the minimum rollovers, their starting jackpots could be stuck at $40M for several drawings which in time would allow MegaMillions jackpots to catch-up. Then both jackpots might grow at about the same rate eliminating the difference between the games that justifies PB selling for $2.

Powerball had a way better year than mega millions. One jackpot for the record is all mega millions could muster in 12 months because the mega millions will not be that high bye the end of the year. Powerball ruled 2012 with 2 $200 million plus jackpots and 2 $300 million plus jackpots not mega millions. Who cares if it is a dollar to play. With MM and PB jackpots reset to their lowest amounts the local games jackpots are looking better, at least in Ohio it does. The local Classic Lotto (6/49) has a jackpot of $22.7M with odds of winning it only 10% of those of MM and PB. I'll be playing it for the next couple of drawings while PB and MM build up their jackpots.
