If you buy two tickets (different numbers) then you have a 1 in 150M chance of winning because you are holding TWO TICKETS. Each ticket alone is 300M but you have TWO of them. 300M divided by 2 is 150M. Thought this thread would had a great discussion on how odds are applied to various possible outcomes, but instead of using math, some only could offer school yard bully's lame insults. That being said, let's try to prove how buying two tickets actually reduces the expressed odds in half.

Originally we were talking about PB odds of 292.2 million he said the first ticket was up against that and buying a second ticket cut those odds in half. Since lottery odds come from the possible number of combinations I doubt that a second ticket eliminates over 146 million combinations. So that's how I somehow heard that it cuts the odds in half . If you're anxious to comment without knowing all the facts CNN could use you.

PA's $50 ticket coming 12/27-12/28Reply
So the new and 1st ever $50 FL ticket that came out Feb 28th (500X the Cash) isn't for the faint of heart...1/4.5 odds but winners start at $100, and $500 odds are 1/48. $1K prize odds actually don't compare favorably to the two current $30 games here, but other mid range prize odds at the $5K, $10K and $20K levels are good. I hit a $5K last weekend on it, and a $500 a couple days ago.

On August 11th, the 955 combo will have been out 3066 draws. This is a big deal because the overall odds against a 3-Way combo being out 3066 draws are 1:10,000, exactly the same as the odds of hitting a Pick 4 number straight. After that, as Jamie Foxx says on Beat Shazam, the odds go up Up UP!!! I wish the money went up Up UP, but it's just the overall odds of this happening that are about to ride that exponential curve to infinity and beyond...

I was just fiddling around with the numbers trying to answer the question What are the odds of no combo of 599 falling for so long? Again, I'm no maths person (to say the least), but if I've done this right, I think that on August 12th the odds of the 599 combo having been out that long will be the same as the odds of hitting a Pick 4 straight, 1:10,000. Or they could merge the white ball sets and the red ball sets and make it a 5-of-139 + 1-of-51 game with odds of 1 in 20.5 billion. Combine two sh***y odds games into one sh***ier odds game. Personally I wouldn't affect me much as I only buy about a dozen lines of PB and MM in a year. I'd rather see a game with better odds like Lotto America rolled out to all the states.
