Lottery-check scams get more seductive, ingenious
My company is actually a victim of one of those scam letters. A canadian company sending out letters using a rough version of our logo and name. We get calls every day from people who think they won the international lottery. Most often it is elderly folk. Makes me a little angry. Sad part is, when we explain it's most likely a scam, they get angry. So many people are hoping that money will save them some day...

MM & PB
What is a professional conspiracy theorist? If you really believe the PB and MM games are a scam, why buy any tickets at all? Do you really believe that any state would participate in a scam where they had to contribute 32% of their lottery tickets sales to a winner in another state?

Pennsylvania man loses thousands to lottery scam
It's amazing how often people are taken advantage of by these fraudulent companies. Whitmansm2 is right, everyone has fallen for a scam at some point in their lives. We should consider ourselves lucky that we have enough lottery know-how to sense a scam from the get-go. It is our resonsibility to report fraudulent emails and letters to prevent someone being taken advantage of in this way. Greedy or not, no one deserves to be robbed.

It is a variation of the old Nigerian scam: The thing they usually do is they require you to give your bank account information and/or ask you to pay fees or taxes associated with collecting the supposed winnings. Is This For Real?
Absolutely, anyone is always feel free to post scam letters here in the forums, because it shines the light of day on those disgustingly pathetic maggots who try to steal people's hard-earned money. If someone can see that other people are getting the same e-mails they get, it convinces them that it is indeed a scam.
