NY Lottery and Anonymity
I think this has happened in Indiana. Lots of people I talk to think the lottery here is rigged and some people say they never reveal the winners . Not actually true, as the Indiana lottery website showcases past winners.
Does the Powerball allow winners to be anonymous? I need to know because I plan to win Wednesday night, lol. I dont want the neighbors to know I won.

Schedule for "Lottery Changed My Life"
Anonymous would be great if it is at all possible. However I would let a few people at LP know that I won a big jackpot.

NY Lottery and Anonymity
Dear NY:
It was great to see a man from Queens win a MegaMilions jackpot. However,
I don't understand why he was required to go public. Other lotteries
allow winners to remain anonymous, and it works very well. Requiring
winners to be publicly identified turns them into sitting ducks, people
don't talk about how much they earn, so why should income from a lottery
be any different? I do hope you reconsider the publicity requirement and allow winners to
continue life as normal

How would you allow yourself to change if you won?
I would keep anonymous for a year. Before cashing in the winning ticket, I would hire a lawyer and financial advisor. Since I'm taking annuity, I will give my parents half until their death. They've worked so hard all their lives and I want them to enjoy the money before they die. I'll give my brother 30,000 a year until his death. Money or no money, a college degree is my priority right now. I want a to live a normal life as much as I can because I won the money, I didn't earn it. If a wealthy

Ask for money
Do you think it is right for anonymous persons to ask a lottery winner for money?
No.

Tax-Free and Anonymity
US state lotteries could learn from the Aussies, all lottery prize money is tax-free in Australia and winners can remain anonymous, which most do.
Also, if you win $53 million, you get $53 million, they don't have any annuity nonsense. That's what America needs - TRUTH IN JACKPOTS!

Two winners to share record A$106 million Australian lottery
I read the story twice, what did i miss. How did the authorities know who won and how to contact them since they requested to be anonymous?
Will someone educate me?

Two winners to share record A$106 million Australian lottery
Holders of the winning Oz Lotto entries, who asked to remain anonymous, will each take about A$53 million in the second-largest single payouts in Australian lottery history.

Calif. man with 3 jobs wins $39M lottery jackpot
Unfortunately with advertising he's looking for someone he's going to be swamped with financial planners that are nothing but cons and other rip off artist. Even better, he also could have remained anonymous..... Goodluck to him though.
EDIT: Though I thought CA allowed anonymity. They do let you skip the media stuff though and I know there's ways around the whole getting your name released thing since people have before.

Those who suffered the "curse" of the lottery:
The only option you have in most U.S. states is to find an anonymous way to claim, like through a trust or a corporation. That way, your name isn't plastered all over media and in the lottery's official records, your name isn't there, the name of the trust/corporation/etc. is.
This has been discussed many times on here before. Some states allow this, some don't, so I guess it depends on what state you live in.
