why did more people win in the 1990's than today? Lotto.
I don't about other states but in the 90's and early 2000's more people played Ohio's 649 game Super Lotto because it had the largest jackpots in the area. Players came to Ohio from all the surrounding states and the game generated enough funds to increase the jackpots as much as $4M after each drawing. When Ohio decided to limit the amounts a ticket could win to $20M, people stopped coming to Ohio to play and the game started losing money. When Ohio reversed that rule a year later, surround

Lottery Predictions for 2013- NOT NUMBER PREDICTIONS
I predict someone will post their hot numbers for the year good in all states in this thread. Seriously, I don't see any $1 billion jackpots under the current formats because we saw the effects on $400 million plus jackpots where probably all the possible combos were sold. Online lottery gambling will continue to grow and should get into casino type online gambling. New Jersey is currently looking into sports online gambling so those laws may be tested. It's possible one or two of non-lottery

Powerball is taking a serious beating in December!
Ticket sales for last night's drawing were $24,678,590 and the secondary prize payoff (excluding Power Play) was $7,011,908. The total sales for both drawings were $52,905,090 which doesn't leave much room for a profit if any. I believe each state pays a percentage of their ticket sales toward the jackpots and then payoff their secondary winners. Any state with a 5 + 0 winner last night probably lost money and the game probably lost money in both drawings. If the jackpots continue to be won u

Make a MUSL jackpot game that's HARD to win.
Seems like MM and OB cannot get over $50 mil. anymore because it's too easy for some people to win. How about altering one of them so we might actually see some big jackpots. Instead of being 5+1, make the game 15+1. Make the white ball numbers go from 1-99,999 and the MB/PB number go from 1-49,999. I'd like to see that be won EVERY single consecutive drawing. Start jackpots off on this new game at $100,000,000

If you get more hits .
With jackpot games it's the quality of the hits rather than quantity. It's better to get 1 four number match in Ohio Classic Lotto than 20 three number matches. If more of the numbers you're picking are being drawn, you need to find better playing strategies to take advantage of it. Also what state is the hardest to hit. Ohio is my choice. Back in the day it was rare when only one person won the Ohio Lotto jackpot and many jackpots were split between ten or more winning tickets. The lott

2012 YTD Multi State JP Performance
Assuming you're using the advertised annuity value, the average payout should be a lot more than $100 million. With odds of 1 in 175 million we should expect 1 winner for every 175 million tickets sold, as a long term average. With about 64 cents from each ticket going toward the jackpot, selling 175 million tickets puts about $112 million in the jackpot prize pool. Interest rates were higher at the beginning of the year so annuity values were a bit lower than right now, but based on the curr

2012 YTD Multi State JP Performance
And at the end of 11 months and one week into the year the score in jackpots paid out is Powerball 11 and Mega Millions 12. I think it's the MM website says that it averages 2 to 15 jackpots a year. Imagine that!

Do some people feel envy/jealousy when someone else wins a jackpot or just a big win?
I truly feel your pain and despair Ronnie316. So the jackpots under $7 million your OK with, that's good to hear. If I should win one of these lower tier jackpots, at least I could count on you to be happy for me.

RL's Digit Master Pro Big Game software download.
RL, make this a GROUP effort and stop putting so much pressure on yourself! If something is costing you money, then you need to come to the pool members and ask that we share the cost. Not only are we obligated, but we will be happy to do it. About the only thing you need to do is, use your expertise of the DM program that you created to facilitate a winning formula with pool members input. Ultimately, the final decision on what numbers to play rests with you, and you alone. I don't know abou
