Lottery Club in USA
A lottery club would be also a group of people trying to master random and get rich.
I would go out on a limb and say a lottery club is a group of people interested in the game.
A lottery pool would just be a group of people trying to get rich who dont really have any interest in the game at all.
In a pool generally the only one who is interested in the game is the person who collects the money. Everybody else is just interested in winning, and only cough up dough when the greed factor

On another and totally different and separate note, I discovered something at work today. I collected money for the Powerball pool I run. I'd have figured most of the folks in the pool would see me commin' and say to themselves Oh no. Here he comes again lookin' for 2 bucks to play Po

Lottery Pool Management - best practices?
Hi Guys,
New member to the site. I've been playing the lotto for years and recently my office has decided to start playing as a group. For some reason or another, I was tasked with managing our pool. We are going to play a couple different games and have a couple different buy-in amounts. I'm looking for suggestions and ideas to accomplish a couple things;
1) whats the best way to manage it?
2) how can I make sure its fair for everyone?
3) any ideas for making it fun and keeping e

Does anyone want to be in a pool with me? lol.
Ah.... wait. Did I say, Does anyone want to be in a pool with me? lol. YES I DID.
I recently posted that I was spending $450. per month on PB and MM. Ah.... but wait.
I changed my mind. I only want to play 1 MM card and 1 PB card for a total of $150. per month.
But here's the conundrum.
I don't have the same numbers on both cards and what if I hit on the WRONG GAME!!!!
Yeah, exactly. So if anyone here wants to play the same numbers (guaranteed to eventually win) on the opposite ga

GGStar ,this topic is well active and may be considered a quality one too,but you are seems the only player involved and play ID Pick 3 is not play the guitar.Minimal wager $1 is one thing ,wagering multiple to $1 is a BAD TROUBLE....
I would dare to invite you focussing on few things:
1/the pool of 20 boxes is now on current skip 8 draws and seen the nature of this pool there's NO reason not to expect a hit in the next 2 draws,it's literally today and lets respect the skip10 (hit occurs i

48 Philly transit workers win $172M Powerball jackpot
Things happened because of a sequence of events, that led to this pool of workers to be at the right place and the right time. Had there been just
5 members in this pool, this would have created a new sequence of events which would have thrown off the timing of who ever was
responsible for buying the tickets at this lucky location. Being a few minutes or even a few seconds earlier or later would have been enough to
invalidate their number from coming up. (I'm assuming QP's here). Maybe

In group lottery wins, splitting the spoils tough
MississippiMudd,
You should be OK with three people.
When the Mirage first opened there was a guy running tickets for a very large pool. He'd make trips to Nipton and took a steno pad with him full of people's names and numbers to play.
He was in that little lotto place in Nipton one time and some Nervada Gaming Commission agents busted him. I don't know how they had any authority in California but they quoted some Nevada law that makes it illegal to be a lottery agent running tickets f

$500 MILLION: Mega Millions sets all-time lottery jackpot record
I put in $5 in an office pool and will separately play another $20.
Yeah, I know. Stay away from pools you say.
My take is that the problems associated with pools, be they lawsuits or attempts by fellow workmates to screw you, are far much more desirable and attractive than the problems I would think myself to have had I not partaken in the pool. In truth, pools have a 50/50 chance of developing into devious selfishness but I'll just man up and deal with it.
The way I see it, I

Rule regarding multiple winners
ea $1 line of 6 numbers, is 1 share of the jackpot. unlike other levels of prize where ea is an amount = to the prize levels amount.
say a synddicate kicked ouyt 1 person in an office, but he had a cop of hteir numbers. and he played them, he would get half, and the office pool would get half,. or they would get 1/20th ea.
but if the office pool, say 10 as in your exapmple, got wind of his machinations; the could all also buy a copy of the nnumbers,
then there would be 12 shares,

Weak Powerball Sales?
ohhh i see what you mean by people who dont play telling us how the lotto should be ran.
sorry rjoh thought that was directed at me.
personally id prefer an equitable prize structure, ie the same % if takings paid to ea prize catagory.
or for the technically minded, a table for ea ticket, where the gambler can assign waht % he wants to go to ea catagory. and that portion of the gambling dollar goes to that level, they could then quote payouts as %1 of pool values, so if i said
