Canada couple loses out on $1.64M jackpot
I AGREE...Bottom line, if you pay to play, then you get a share if the pool wins. If you miss a couple draws, then you are OUT for those draws.
I'm sorry but when I was running a pool I told everyone I will not spot you for the draw, if you want to participate I need the $$ by this date/time
If they wanted to participat that bad, they should have made a special trip to the person collenting the money to drop off cash. I had people do this on several occasions. I even allowed som

Hi Everyone...Need help with our Lottery Club in Florida
First, don't go against the ideas on which the club was formed. These people are entrusting you with their money to do what the group decided as a whole. So the real question is, WHAT WAS THE IDEA THAT CAUSED THESE PEOPLE TO DONATE TO THAT POOL?
Is there a pool agreement that includes games to be played, splitting the wins, cut-off time for pay ins, etc? Determine what happens to the lower tier prizes. Are they split? Or do they go back into the players pool? These decisions need to be made a

Do we have Keno Players??
I have been diligently working (countless hours) on NY's Quick Draw Keno game (drawn every four minutes) I have devised a number of ways to narrow down to a pool of 20 numbers (out of 80) which every few draws or so provides an opportunity to get at least a 5 of 5.
NY's Quick Draw is nothing more than an RNG algorythm I have not been able to fully crack yet.
One of my favorite methods is to add +2 and +3 and -2 and -3 to the first 5 numbers drawn. This gives you a pool of 20 numbers that w

12 Michigan women + 2 men share $12.7M lottery jackpot
As one who runs lotto pools, four of them right now, I personally like them. I like them because with just $5 - $10 dollars I am in every drawing for a year on each my two big pools (20 and 21 members). I agree it will only take one ticket to win, that's why we only play $1 per drawing. Granted if we win the minimum jackpot, it will only be about $394,000 per person after taxes but that's more than I have right now; of course we're hoping to win a LARGE jackpot. In these tight economic times, $5

Hi Jack ! I mean .... Hello Jack . LOL Saw your 85 box plays post and the idea of playing all 85 boxes to make profit. Well, maybe we can look into box plays later on with something like this Straights Method.
But Jack .... let me ask you

Unemployed: Play the lottery or not?
I am graduating college this May. And I wonder what will happen to me.
I am interning at a major animation studio in Burbank. Yeah, it's one of the biggest one in America. I hope I can get hired by them after graduation.
But the future is very uncertain.
Today I saw a copy of MM tickets at the studio. It's a company lottery pool. How many people are in the pool? Since it's a big animation studio, roughly 80 people participate in the pool. Even if they win, they will still have to ke

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
Nice hits RJ! You are due for a few good draws.
Thanks Stew.
I think reducing the size of my number pool helped. When you're only playing 20 lines, it's better to have 3 winning numbers in a pool of 21 than it is to have all 5 winning numbers in a pool of 45.
For the previous drawing my combinations were from two pools of numbers. Each combination had 4 numbers from one group and one number from the other. I had all the winning numbers in the two groups but four of them were in the prim

Piqua lottery winners sued by co-workers
Lottery Pools are a bad idea this stuff happens quite a bit I would never participate in one!!!
Yeah, I'll bet they're really sorry they ever formed that pool.
Regardless of how this case turns out, it is just another black mark against office pools.
They formed an office pool and they won about $145 million. If they have to share it 19 ways instead of 15, and they lose a few million to legal fees they'll still pocket more money that they would have earned during their entire live

Help Please
Xerete,
There are 3,247,943,160 ways to pull 20 numbers out of a pool of 35 numbers.
If you pull out the 5 correct numbers, then you are left with pulling out 15 more numbers from a pool of the 30 numbers that remain. There are 155,117,520 ways to do so.
This leaves you with:
155,117,520 ways to have all 5 winners among your 20 numbers
---------------- divided by
3,247,943,160 ways to pull any 20 numbers out of a pool of 35 numbers
equals 4.775% of all possible '35 choose 20
