One lottery ticket sold in New Jersey wins $521 million Mega Millions jackpot
I did a quick search for the rules of anonymity for the state of New Jersey and found this.
Once signed, a ticket can not be altered. (Just like New Hampshire)
The New Jersey Lottery is compelled to release the name of the person or organization that filed the claim as well as the town and retailer where the ticket was sold.
The key word there is organization. The New Jersey Lottery does not directly address that definition on its website whether players who win prizes can form limited

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
To add on, not only are the older $5 games generally worse odds wise compared to the newer ones...they are less likely to yield jackpots because they end up sitting in the warehouse.
Look at $5 Winning Streak for example, and the recently claimed jackpot versus the previous one. Escape from Margaritaville is another great example of a game that's 55-60% sold thru, and had a massive gap between jackpots. These games start to become difficult to find because no major retailer will stock th

Georgia bill would allow lottery winners to remain anonymous — for a price
HA! Good one.
In most states the winners pay taxes on their winnings!
If Georgia makes winners pay taxes on the winnings then they shouldn't double tax them to remain anonymous.
I don't know what the GA tax rate is but if it is 5% then the tax on a $10,000,000 win is $500,000 and that should easily be way more than enough
to simply not release the winners information.

Georgia group fights to prevent lottery winners from claiming anonymously
That young man being killed is a perfect example of why winnings should be anonymous!
If it's the guy I'm thinking of he's a perfect example of why you should be careful who you hang out with, or who you tell about winning. The majority of winners who have been victimized have been their own worst enemies, and were victimized by people who already knew them and found out about the lottery winnings right from the horse's mouth.
Eddie Tipton ... could have easily collected based on this G

Texas Lottery Goes Anonymous
Effective January 1st, 2018 the Texas Lottery now officially allows winners of $1 Million Dollar payout prizes or greater to remain anonymous. This includes Scratch Tickets, Texas 2 Step, Texas Lotto, PB and MM. While this is a great victory for players, there is one little note that should also be kept in mind. Should a winner want to claim their prize through the annuity method, then after 30 days the lottery commission can release their name. If you go to the website and look on the right han

Washington man wins lottery, then leaves ticket at gas station
Journalism is lacking these days. The article looks to be mostly a rewrite of the Washington Lottery press release. Compare newspaper articles from 40+ years ago to now. Lots of detail, even for mundane incidents, was common. Today, one or two short paragraphs often passes as a news article. Most news gathering organizations have had their staffs gutted, so it's often a wonder any articles of substance are published.
Also, articles are often full of typos, repeated paragraphs (not always AP s

Arizona Lottery director not embarrassed about computerized drawing fiasco
Seems pointless to focus on the credentials of the AZ Lottery director. Party affiliation and all that is even more silly. Of course he's PR driven. Most executive directors are; mouthpiece of the agency. Much of the decision making is coming from elsewhere, in particular, lottery consultants and vendors that perform much of the day to day operations of the lottery.
Players aren't going to effect much, if any change, barring some organized actions (protests, boycotts, etc) that potentially en
