Does anybody else disagree with graduated annuities?
Maybe my statement wasn't clear. The annuity itself isn't an issue, i would take it. The system of payment of the annuity is my issue. Thanks for the link, though.

Lottery winner lost money after investing funds
The annuity is better (for some people) because you are not putting all your money at risk in any single thing. With the annuity option, if you make an investing blunder this year, you still have another check coming next year.

Does Mega Millions Digits repeat?
On March 6, 2007, a Mega Millions jackpot worth $390 million was split by two tickets, one each from Georgia and New Jersey. To date, this is the largest recorded payout (of an annuity-based prize) in the world. The largest Powerball jackpot was taken by eight co-workers from a Nebraska meat processing plant who jointly bought a single ticket that won them $365 million (annuity value) in the drawing held February 18, 2006.

After $10M lottery win, Mass. woman plans 'exceptional Christmas'
I remember when the Chubbies won (is that what you would call them, the Chubb people) I said take the cash option, and buy oil NOW!!! - had they done so they would have doubled their winnings in less than 1 year. I would say now to take the cash option and buy some gold, and some real estate. The only problem with a 20 year annuity is who knows what the value of a dollar is in the future with the Gov't printing so much and spending so much. i.e. imagine if 20 years ago someone won the Zimbabwean

$325 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot rolls again
Not for nothing but won't the payout be like about $25 million a year (if not more)? Seriously, how the *bleep* can you spend $25 million a year and be broke if you never had it before? With the first annuity you can pay whatever debt you (the normal person) has and still have enough to live your wildest dreams and STILL have enough left until the subsequent year..... That's just my devil's advocate position on choosing annuity, but I wouldn't know what I'd personally do.

Cash Option vs Annuity
This has been discussed here many times, do a search. Someone heree has or had a signature, You can buy a better annuity , meaning always take the cash, and with it you can buy a better annuity than the one the state lottery is going to use to pay you with.
