$636 Million Mega Millions jackpot split by 2 tickets
A NEW GAME started on 10/22/13, that is draw #1! Duh?
Duh, indeed. Calling that the starting point of the new game may be reasonable, but since it was preceded by 5 drawings with rollovers claiming it's the first drawing is ridiculous when you're comparing it to other jackpot runs. Are you seriously telling me that comparing a jackpot run that starts with an advertised jackpot of $55 million to one that starts at $12 million makes any sense at all?
OTOH, that approach could explain why y

Poll: Next round of jackpot frenzy
Yep. PB jackpot is now at $74 million. That is a three roll record!! I guess Powerball's set prize / guaranteed jackpot reserve is finally full as well, as the cash jackpot seems to be reflecting ~32% of sales, per the rules.

Something seems fishy to me!
You are wrong! The lottery officials would have loved for it to have rolled at least one more time if not twice. They wanted the new record and a possibly of a billion dollar jackpot. I am sure they were disappointed.

Poll: Which record gets broken first?
Personally, I don't think anyone will ever break the record that was set at this year's Kentucky State Fair amid a cloud of controversy.
It was in the Ladies Division Finals of The Loudest Fart in Kentucky Contest and it caused quite a stink stir.
It seems one of the lady contestants, unfamiliar with the protocols, and unsure of where the microphone was for her performance, stopped right in front of the judges table, grabbed the Governor's microphone, bent over and let 'er rip. Well, the G

$636 Million Mega Millions jackpot split by 2 tickets
It's not even remotely close to a record. Even if you're willing to accept the anuity value as a legitimate jackpot measure, by changing the terms of the annuity they've made it a complete farce to try and compare this drawing to any previous drawing on a dollar to dollar basis. It's like thinking somebody who weighs 400 pounds isn't fat if we weigh them in kilos.

The Future of Mega Millions?
MM ticket sales always drop after a nine digit jackpot win and record drop in sales is $627 million from 3/30/12 to 4/03/12. Sales prove people will buy many more tickets when the jackpot reaches a certain size, but the amount of the jackpot that starts a ticket buying frenzy is gradually getting higher.

$636 Million Mega Millions jackpot split by 2 tickets
I'm not sure why it takes the states so long to come up with a final jackpot tally for Mega Millions, but apparently the jackpot total for the Tuesday drawing could wind up being something like $648 million. Not the record, but pretty close.

MM JP winner,name adress,age,job
I look forward to all the crazies again and people falsely claiming to have won the JP. Maybe Mirlande will make another appearance. Once the lottery approaches that record territory, some people just lose their minds (or as some say on LP, Loose their minds).

MEGA MILLIONS JACKPOT SOARS TO $636 MILLION
It's all about the hype. Simply advertising a cash jackpot of over $300 million isn't enough. They have to inflate it by nearly 100% with a fictitious annuity that virtually nobody takes, and they're desperately hoping for an excuse to call this drawing a new record when they'll be lucky if it's 3/4 of what they gave away just under 2 years ago.
