Gang 'used 007-style gadgets' to cheat casinos
A person is only considered stupid if they get caught? If stupidity involves conjuring and divising a plan that took some intellect and created an income, then the mere mention of stupidity is insignificant. I commend even a criminal method if they had the intellect to outsmart a system. Do I agree to such antics no, but I give credit to the *method* and creativity used.
They had their fun and are paying the piper. That is the little lesson learned from the article.

New Florida Lottery raffle will make 10 millionaires
That Texas game is a scratch-off. The game reffered to in the article is a raffle-style game sold through the lottery computer.
And in any case, the scratch-ff is a much better deal than any baffle .

Lottery Raffles
This is a good subject. Todd just posted an article about the FL New Year's game, so you might see some answers on that thread. I found this one by searching. I am not sure what I think. $20 for one ticket is a lot of money for me, although I see people spending $100 or more every week at the counter for scratch tickets or Lotto. I might buy 1 or 2, since the odds of 125,000 to 1 are much better than 22 million to 1 for the 6/53 game, although the payoff is less. Even if I buy 20 Lotto tic

Experts: Online-Gambling Ban Won't Work
From the tone of the article it sounds like the Justice Department doesn't intend to seriously prosecute anyone. Former Senator Frist has screwed up on this one. He tried to clamp down on a certain lobbyist and only ended up ramming through a half-baked law that has assured he will never be president. Good work, Bill!
