An Ethical Dilemma...
Well, now that some people have posted, I'll go ahead and say what I did: I went ahead and took all 9 of the tickets.
To address some issues that have come up during discussion:
- the person who had put the money in was not standing nearby. If there was anyone nearby, I would have asked them about it, but no one was.
- I personally chose not to contact a store employee because I know from past experience that they have no control over the machine. It's overseen by an outside vendor. So

Lotto pet peeves (with vendors & other players)
There's this one woman who sees me almost everyday, and still asks me if I want a plastic sleeve for my one betslip which only has 2 selections for the p-3.
I'd say about 80 percent of the time when I go into any store, the clerk takes the slip from my hand and puts it into the machine without looking to see how many selections I have, and assumes I only played one bet. As soon as the first ticket is printed they fly over to the counter and then realize there's more. But now, they're not sure

Giving away a winning ticket
I was in London and I played the slot machines there. I won a token and was going to take it to the window to ask about it but something made me look for a sign that explained the tokens. The sign said that the tokens could only be redeemed for packs of cigarrettes.
I don't smoke so I picked a random machine and put it in and pulled that handle....Click,click,click...Jackpot! I now had more 10 pence coins then I knew what to do with. I put them all in my front pockets and they where pulling m

Ontario Lottery adds signature requirement for claiming prizes
chasingadream et al...>>> NO. You and others still don't understand it. Perhaps this will help clear it up for you.
The 'moron' who has a winning ticket here in Ontario [moron-probably 25% of society by the way] NOW has all the bells and whisltes for him to be alerted to a win on his ticket signed or unsigned. Whether he is picking his nose at the time the clerk is checking his ticket or looking at the cigarette rack or chocolate bars types he now has the great noise of the gover

Indiana lottery players still hunting year-old jackpot
Lottery Post noted for raising awareness
More than a year has fallen off the calendar since someone last claimed a Hoosier Lotto jackpot, an unprecedented drought that's raising eyebrows in addition to fueling ticket sales and pushing tonight's grand prize to a record $53.5 million.
I just am stunned, said Mike Krueger, a regular Hoosier Lotto player from Whiting. And a lot of other Lottery players and the people at the stores where I play are like, 'Why hasn't it been hit?' Is somet

Opponents of lottery say 'I told you so'
A database consultant alleges the N.C. Lottery didn't deliver the money promised
By Frank Koconis
The N.C. Education Lottery has been in operation for barely a year, and so far the state has seen little benefit from it. The promised boost in education funding is much smaller than expected, and for certain programs, nonexistent. Even worse, some of the ominous predictions of those who originally opposed the lottery appear to be coming true.
The lottery simply isn't bringing in nearly as

Retired auto worker, 2 children claim $314M Powerball lottery jackpot
A retired auto worker and his two adult children claimed a $314 million Powerball jackpot Monday after waiting two weeks to step forward.
I know the world is going to turn upside down, said David Coterel, 65, of Riverside, Ohio. Coterel's daughter, Lynn Hiles, 46, said she has quit her job as a postal worker in Dayton, Ohio. Her 42-year-old brother, David Coterel, recently took a buyout from his job at an auto parts plant.
Neither has any children, and their mother, Dorothy, died of canc
