-Anonymity-
I've been reading your guy's posts about this very subject for some time and realized that you all feel very serious about this, so I want to ask you guys a question: Since the majority of the US states do not allow winners to remain anonymous or create legal body entities and, would you still claim the jackpot as your name or would you refuse until there would be revisions to your liking, (knowing that your winning ticket expires in approximately a year).

List of States Which Allow Anonymous Winners
I haven't seen such a list and I'm wondering if one has been compiled. I also wonder if you can go by what's in the FAQ on each website. I started checking a few states and here's what I found so far. Please feel free to add states if you wish. AZ - No (website FAQ) CO - No (email from CO lottery commission - they did add you can set up a trust to claim) DC - No (website FAQ) DE - Yes (website FAQ) MT - No (website FAQ) OK - No (website FAQ)

Rule #1 For Winners
What happens in Canada, do they follow the British model and allow winners to remain anonymous? Or, do the insist that winners be paraded in front of the media like performing monkers?

Rule #1 For Winners
I live in NY, they do not allow winners to be anonymous when claiming a jackpot. Oh well, no biggy since I will be moving after claiming the jackpot.

Lump Sum or payments?
Well that makes sense if you could be anonymous. They wouldn't even think of asking you for money if they didn't know you won, but everybody will know...lol What? you want 10 grand for a new car? Are you kidding me? I only make 7 million a year....lol

Divvy it up
I wouldn't gift any except some in trust to my college age kids, but even then maybe not. I'd probably invest most and make anonymous charity donations with the earnings. I'm not sure who I would tell. Maybe my Dad so he will stop worrying about me.

Divvy it up
Wow LuckyLilly, You are serious on this one. I love it! Its like hey, try and find me! Change your name twice and move away. And I thought blind trust was good. The anonymous charities are the way to go. I also read where someone pledged money to a charity then later couldn't fullfill the pledge and got sued BY THE CHARITY! go figure.
