Personal Numbers
I agree with your theory, Guesser. I've studied the numbers drawn in FL over the past 10 years and there have been few draws where the 6 numbers are all under 30. However, what if one of these 2 winners had been playing for 10 years and then read an article explaining this fact, that is, he should stop and pick some other numbers or get a quick pick instead. He'd be very upset now, wouldn't he? This was my point. I realize that the odds were not in their favor picking such low numbers. Howev

Lottery superstitions, do you have any?
There was an article a few years ago in a tabloid that four jackpot winners in a row had drank orange juice wirhin an hour before playing their tickets.
What about people who go by the lucky colors for their zodiac sign and wear them when they play?

A History of Lottery Scamsters
by Gail Howard
An email I received last week brought rushing back bad memories of people I had trusted who deceived me and my readers.
Randy Miller of Lockport, New York, wrote:
Hi Gail,
I received an interesting $100 lottery refund check yesterday from a class action lawsuit. It was started about 10 years ago and it

lottery gaps
Does anyone know the original source of that article? I know it was written by Steven Highfield, but where was it first published?
rhow, this question has nothing to do with any of the above remarks, I'm just curious where it was first published.

OK, no problem. Very interesting stuff. Did the author write the article for you? from the other post here it looks like it exists in at least one other place too.

Newspaper apologizes for lottery results error
This article doesn't say what his injuries were, and you can only sue someone if you have damages, right? Did he quit his job? I'm just curious in what way he was harmed. Once a woman in Florida won a jackpot after she threw out her ticket because her local paper was wrong, but she was able to retrieve it. Many people rely on the newspaper. Regarding those who claim they threw away a ticket with lower-tier prize, I think some might be telling the truth. Still, the newspaper is not responsib

Michigan lottery backs GTECH, Lottomatica deal
Reading back over this news item, I see that I mis-read the article. GTECH handles the lottories now. They are selling out to the other company.
I still have reservations about GTECH having off-shore contracts. What contacts or contracts does Lottomatica have?

Oklahoma Powerball lottery winner claims prize
I agree with both of you. The article seems to indicate that a Trust will protect the names of the winners. In FL I've seen jackpots claimed in a Trust, but the names of the winners are still printed in the news release. However, as RJOh writes, these people need to be careful and button their lips if they want to keep their secret hidden from neighbors and relatives. Still, not announcing the names in the paper is a great help and, if I ever win a jackpot, that would certainly save me a lot of
