MADDOG'S Powerball Challenges (Discussion)
When I first started buying PowerBall tickets in Indiana I would head for the first gas station over the boarder and would have to wait in line with other Ohioans buying bunches of (QP) tickets so clerks in the area were used to selling a lot of tickets to long lines when the PB jackpots were large. When I bought tickets for co-workers I had started going to New Haven which was a little farther inland so there usually weren't any lines and the clerks of those stations were happy to get the extra

How do they decide what a games odds should be?
I found this on the web the other day, but I don't remember exactly where. I will provide the link if I find it. Go ahead and read it and see what you think. I know that all numbers do have an equal chance of being drawn, but they do sometimes follow short term trends. I never did believe that quick-picks were designed with the players best intentions in mind. I wonder if they set the machines to put out QP combinations at different times, that are more or less likely to win, in order to achieve

Illinois Little Lotto Jackpots 2010
Thanks so much for the kind words, onenumber.
Little Lotto has shown itself to be pretty consistent with QPs vs PP, the number of winners in Chicago and the Collar Counties, and how many jackpots are hit on Wednesday and Saturday nights, with Little Lotto being the highest jackpot on Thursdays and Sundays (odd, that!), and with the number of jackpots paid per year.
It came out to a jackpot every 2.419 days, roughly this game pays a jackpot a little more often than every third day.
Thank

Pure unadulterated baloney from Steve Player
The GEO MATRIX SYSTEM comes with a MASTER LIST of actual ready-to-play sets of 5 numbers, and this list contains the First Prize Jackpot numbers 63% of the time. That's more than 6 out of every 10 drawings. Each combination has a special Matrix Code assigned to it, and you will be playing your combinations based on the Code instead of the numbers themselves. Since we are using a Code instead of the actual numbers, we can forget about all the techniques that are usually employed to select our num

What's Going On in NYC?
I understand how you feel, i also noticed the multiple wins in certain places. I was going crazy trying to find out by checking the new york lottery website for press releases about the multiple wins in mega millions, take 5 and powerball. But i gained my sanity back when i noticed the following on september 17, 2010, somebody hit the mega millions 2nd prize multiple times in brooklyn, BUT THE ONE THAT HIT IT BIG WAS THE JACKPOT WINNER, SHE WON $54 MILLIONS DOLLARS WITH $2 QUICK PICKS.

Do We Need More Then Luck To Win ??
tiggs,
I'm not doubting some of the psychic stuff, voices, visions, ESP and such, but I'm with you on the lotto and luck.
Powerball and Mega Millions pay ouy something like 8 to 15 jackpots a year each. If the things being discussed in this thread worked as claimed they work, there would be a whole lot more than that number of jackpots being paid.
But there isn't.

Lotto Maxims
Wasn't any need for sarcasm off or on, I'm talking eons beyond politics, I am talking lotto.
Just consdier the stinger threads here on LP regarding the lottery, QP vs PP (Player Picks). Take the Illinois Pick 5 game, I use it as an example because it's drawn every day. 119 jackpots paid so far this year, 104 of the winners played a QP (includes shared jackpots). Think that convinces any of the anti-QP crowd anything? Think again.
Then how about anonymous or not, annuity or cash option, et

A great way for playing the lotto, (must read)
select a good combinatin of numbers for each gam and play faithfully for 6 months, it doesnt matter how often, but it should be as often as you go regularly to play.Play a consecutive drawing of any of your combinations once a month, keep a list of your numbers played, wait 5 months play those numbers again, renew your list, but always keep one permant number for each drawing for as long until it hit.Don't go over your budget, play what you can afford to loose, people have won with just one dollar

N.Y. man pleads guilty to stealing to feed his lottery habit
yes I agree, nobody is forcing us to play and here they've taken off the old 6/49 and replaced it with the 5+Mega Number Loto.
The old 6/49 was more fun to me because it was cheaper 0.50 cents (1.00 euro=2 tickets) and I could play my wheels and more numbers, and now the 5+Mega is 2.00 euros one ticket with bigger jackpots and bla, bla,
(1 euro=1,3492 dollar)
and as for me sometimes I need to retire from playing for a good long time.. and yes I prefers smallers jackpots and more prizes!

What's with NY Sweet Million??
Well, it's nice the SM promotion was extended, but once again, despite the promotion, there was no million dollar winner last Monday night. The game is comming up on it's first anniversary, yet in nearly 104 drawings it has produced maybe a half dozen JP winners. I think many would be players want to see it do better than that before they'll commit to playing it regularly.
It's not that I want to see the game go away. In my opinion what NY needs to do is enhance the lower tier prize payouts s
