Michigan Lottery Employee Arrested for Stealing Tickets
OK.. something is fishy in that article.. the tickets had a face falue of $1100 but he cashed in $3000??????? He would have been better off to just BUY the $1100 in tickets!!! How does the Michigan Lottery make any money with that negative ratio? Or was there maybe one ticket that happened to be in that batch that won a big prize?

interest groups lining up to lobby on web gambling
If you read the article about SWIFT you see that there is no red flag amount. Title 18 has an amount, but now we know that the CIA can monitor ALL money transfers into the United States.
I do think the U.S. can stop online gambling and/or tax it. Tax would make more sense to the people that make the laws!!

I hope a Non-Californian wins the jackpot.
My goodness, Tiburon,What article of evidence do you have to make such an allegation?
It matters not if it rolls or gets hits quickly, the end result is simple, someone will be richer and fade into obscurity (sp?). Would be interesting to see an LP member who is part of Betslips win! Thats almost a double bonus! The odds are really simple, you either hit it or ya didnt.

Calif. Mega Millions lottery winner claims prize
A winner s name, city/county, and the prize amount is generally a matter of public record, but not age.
The article didn't say he was going to stay at a job, quit a job, not quit a job, etc., just that he will work hard (at whatever he does). A perfect ambiguous quote; we can all learn something from his words in terms of addressing the press.

Maryland Lottery machine glitches frustrate players
"You should see the looks on their faces," said John Christopoulos, an owner of Christo's Discount Liquors in Ferndale. "You should see these people. They're like sheep. They have to have their fix. They should call Charles Schwab and invest their money."
I thought that comment made in the article was kind of rude. The guy doesn't seem to mind selling tickets and taking these "sheeps" money.

states with no lottery
Related article . . always a lot of Nevada legislative discussion, but no progress so far . . looks like it will take a resident initiative process to get around gaming industry lobbyist.
Nevada Megabucks is currently around $20 million (only a 25 annual installment payment option).
