Online got me into this mess, Can it get me out?
The problem here is not the games but accessibility to the lottery terminal and the instant scratch-off tickets. This isn't about gambling away all her money but shorting the cash register, blaming employees, defrauding the lottery, and bankrupting her husband's business. Gamblers Anonymous can help people stop gambling and so can a prison term.

N.C. couple's winning lottery ticket purchased in S.C.
Holy rerun batman! I just found on the moonpie website that they are sold at Acme markets, which are all over Delaware (and the one supermarket I never go into, go figure). Guess where I'm shopping this weekend. If I win Delaware Powerball, tastycakes and moon pies for all! (Of course Delaware allows anonymous winners, so...)

A Model for What to do with the Jackpot You just Won
Great article. However, I would still remain anonymous for the sake of peace of mind and so that you won't be targeted by the media. Don't forget that this guy lives in a small town in IDAHO!!! What crime or harrassment could possibly happen to him in Idaho? I read about one of the Powerball winners from Nebraska and he still lives in Nebraska. But a lottery winner in Idaho or Nebraska wouldn't have the same problems as someone who won it in New York City. Believe me, if someone won that k

Store clerk judging you.
Why do you owe her an explanation? That would have really ticked me off. I'd probably have said something like You need to go to psycho-skank anonymous, cuz you got a bigger problem. And I probably would have written a complaint letter to their corporate office telling them I would be making all my purchases at a different store until they trained their employees to do their jobs without deliberately offending customers.

would you play in a jackpot pool
Well, given the fact that quite a few have been won lately with office pools (St. Louis, Arizona, Nebraska, Wisconsin, to name a few) evidentily there must be SOME good to being in an 'office pool'..... The keyword is 'can', just as not being anonymous 'can' be a problem, but it doesn't have to be.

QPs - what #'s do you want?
Thank you, tntea. I trust you meant that sincerely. I prefer to be anonymous though, when that reality comes. I dream of putting up a top-of-the-art learning center for gifted children from all over the world. When you hear of this, you will know my 2-dollar dream came true. I hope you win, also. And your dreams fulfilled.

a book about how the lottery changed a persons life
Assuming you mean Would you write a book about how the lottery has affected your life? It's difficult enough remaining anonymous and keeping one's privacy after winning a jackpot. Anyway, if that's what you're asking, then NO

I am going to try to change the rules about annonymity...
What does that have to do with the lottery or remaining anonymous ? 'Live free' = your choice if you want to play the lottery or not ?

I am going to try to change the rules about annonymity...
Someone once brought this up before and my answer was that it's possible to fight this in court. However, this was the scene I pictured (I'm editing for the sake of brevity) You get a team of lawyers to challenge the constitutionality of the lottery rules. You fight the lottery all the way to Supreme Court for your right to remain anonymous. You win your batte. You are invited to appear on the Today Show. You are invited to appear on Larry King Live. Your picture appears on the
