NC joins Powerball
So this was the main reason. The commission also wanted a presentation from the operators of Mega Millions, the nation's other multi-state game, but that group declined. North Carolina lottery officials say Mega Millions does not want additional states to join right now. Executive Director Tom Shaheen also recommended Powerball because a large concentration of Tar Heel residents, especially in the Charlotte area, already play the game in South Carolina. The state of Virginia participates in Mega

State, gambling foes argue about California joining Mega Millions
He said he would issue a ruling sometime after March 1.I hope that the ruling forces CA to not play MM. It would be great because CA violated the rules of joining the multi-state game when taking over the Atlanta based game Mega Millions. If that's the case, then people will have to go back to CA SLP. I also have the MM picks in one of my word documents.

Powerball lottery states report brisk sales for huge jackpot
Isn't it great that Powerball is back in the game? It was no fun with just ONE big multi-state game! Now if Powerball gets hit, Mega Millions is one roll from $100M.

KENO KIDS' Keno Korner
Ontario's nice, too. If you're correct and they adopt one in the US as a multi-state game I hope it goes up to 80. Those are the most fun by a long shot, though a game as large as you're talking about could do a hundred numbers and still make a lot of friends.Jack

$15.2 Million Powerball Prize
Just so people are aware, that has nothing to do with the USA Multi-State Powerball game. It is a link regarding the game of the same name played only in Australia. And that is Australian dollars, not US dollars.

Powerball Lottery Jackpot Jumps to $53 Million
That claim is still deceiving though. It should say America's LARGEST game, because it is depending on how you look at it. They do have more states than any other multi-state game.

N.C. Lottery Bill Passed by Senate
I agree, it will be some time before they start a multi-state game, but states realize that's the ticket to big revenue numbers. For example, check out Oklahoma. They haven't even started their games yet -- not even their scratch-offs -- yet they have ALREADY selected Powerball over Mega Millions.Just goes to show that the decision over which multi-state game to participate in has become of paramount importance. It may be sooner than we think for N.C.

Mega Millions Math
Put another way, if you buy all the possible combinations of 5/56, the MegaMillions game becomes a multi-state 1/46 game where the ticket cost $3,819,816. This might mean something to a players in California if the pari-mutuel amount for matching 5+0 ever accumulates to close that amount.

Are u a loyal lottery player?
My in-state game is Match 6, and a $10,000,000 jackpot would be a big deal in that game, a $20 deal. But as far as Multi-State games, I play Powerball at $50,000,000 and Mega Millions at $100,000,000. It's great living on the PA/NJ border. Both games, and neither have state income tax on them.
