Powerball hits triple digits
The cash value of MM is higher than the PB cash value. The annuity prize for PB is very misleading.

To my fellow LP members
rdc137.... both New Jersey and Georgia offer pre-selection, i.e. you make a selection of cash or annuity when purchasing your ticket.
The USA MEGA site says Georgia is 60 days from the claim date and New Jersy is 60 days from the drawing date for selecting cash or annuity option. Do you know if once you claim your winnings are you offered the chance to change your option, if within the time limit in either of these states?

Florida officer unable to accept $1,000 lottery ticket gift
Maybe the scratch game is annuity-only. I would NEVER accept such a ticket.

Mega Millions hit in Ohio- $40 Million
RJOH...according to the USA Mega web site, in Ohio you have 60 days after filing a claim to make a choice between cash or annuity. The infomation is listed under the Mega Millions FAQ in a grid outling how each state in Mega Millions handles the cash/annuity choice.
I guess it comes down to what you meant by sixty days after winning , the date of the draw or the date of the claim?

what do you plan on having as a new years resolution?
Not to play NY Lotto until the payout is increased above 40%. Also, not to play any annuity-only games.

New Tenn. congressman wants national lottery
rdc
That is true, however, they would be getting all that cash, so whats a few U.S. Treasury STRIPS to make the jackpot even less valuable...it's almost like they are creating another social security system with that type of annuity with Treasury Bonds...who's to say your annuity will last 26 years...ha ha ha

Florida Lotto
The 60% that I've referred to would apply to all Florida online games, not Lotto. That would be the payout percentage. Compare to a maximum of 40% in NY Lotto.
As for Florida Lotto and Mega Money, which are annuitized, the percentage of the annuity that is paid out to lump-sum winners fluctuates. The % is lower for Lotto, as the annuity is 30 annual payments.
