I am going to try to change the rules about annonymity...
I think you misunderstood what he was saying. It sounds like he's suggesting allowing anonymity but having a judge verify that there really is a real person who won. Of course if the lottery could fake a winner in the first place, how hard would it be to find a judge to join the rest of the people in the conspiracy? As far as big jackpots, it sounds like he might always play at least $5. If everybody played like that there would be far more money going into the prize pool and there would be

Georgia Trucker Claims Half of Record $390 Million Lottery Jackpot
Maybe you should split your whining into two different threads. A lot of people here would like to see the jackpots advertised at cash value. For starters, that's the only realistic figure, plus almost all winners take the cash so most of the annuity jackpots never really existed. Plenty of people think the advertising is misleading, but if they advertize the jackpot as $370 million the winner can get that much if they're willing to take the annual payments. That's clearly not fraudulent.Anybod

Some words of encouragement, there will be other jackpots!
Hey ladies and gents, I know it is bad to have the losing tickets but don't feel bad if you didn't win or don't know anyone that won that would have given you a piece. We have Friday's drawing, next Monday's, Next Fridays, the Monday after that, ...you get my point. Its not the end of the world. It was fun while it lasted and i'll say this, I don't know about you, but I wouldn't EVER turn away a $4.5 million dollar jackpot, EVER! So cheer up and keep on playing because you never know that

Washington Lottery's Quinto game to end in March
A lame 5/39 game. Now we can have two games with low jackpots instead of just one. The WA state lottery just seems like a long downhill slide. Their scratch games are ok and the lucky for life scratch is popular but when it comes to online games they just keep screwing up. If they were really interested in what players want they would bring back televised ball drawings. Quinto had some good jackpots including a 4.7 million cash pot. If they brought back lotto plus it would be better but th

the proven lotto system
Most people probably look at the multi-million dollar payoffs and are pleasantly surprised if they happen to hit a lower tier prize. How long would a 5/56 Pick-5 game last if it paid nothing for 2 out of 5, $7 for 3 out of 5, $150 for 4 out of 5, and with a jackpot of $250,000? And since most of the states with Powerball and/or MegaMillions have a version of a Pick-5 game with smaller matrixes (5/37), better lower tier prizes, and in some instances, higher jackpots, its a no-brainer. I'd

Lotteries long for 'jackpot fever'
The mistake lottery officials make is thinking that simply increasing the odds will create larger jackpots which will increase buzz, but that's not how most players think. Jacked-up odds means a much greater expectation of huge pots which creates a loss of buzz during these long build-up periods. It takes about a month for Powerball to get up to a $100 million. Also, with the increased odds PB has fewer winners to annouce each year which hurts them with players. Buzz is not only created by l

$3.5m CT ticket to expire
A Connecticut Classic Lotto jackpot winner won't get any money if the ticket is not claimed by this week's one-year anniversary. IIRC the last time a Connecticut Lotto jackpot winner forfeited the prize for this reason happened at least 10 years ago, in the annuity-only era. The Connecticut Lotto jackpot usually started at $1 million (same as now,) but there were several jackpots that started at $2 million, using the unclaimed jackpot. I don't know if Connecticut would do the same now. I w

I love 100mill + jacks!!
lotto laughs is right and wise. :) Whilst its wonderful to hit it big with folks you trust, the odds are astounding . Im skeptical on hitting those huge jackpots and splitting it. Uncle sam is always hoovering over the jackpots and forever getting his share. Why we havent kicked him from the family tree is beyond me.

Penn. Lottery introduces new 'Mix & Match' game
I kinda like the game except for the low starting jackpot. I don't consider anything under a $1,000 a win, it just helps lower the cost on my next bets. I am looking forward to try some bulk system play soon, but I have to save up longer for a $2.00 price tag. I wonder how much the first jackpot will be? The problem with these low jackpots and split jackpots, is they will not accomplish what I need to accomplish. My luck I will hit it along with 5 others, and a brand new house and a decent r
