How high will MM go this run?
If there's nothing wrong why are lotteries like the MA lottery finally starting to realize that low jackpots equal low sales? It's only a matter of time before a change happens to this lame game. When I'm finally right about this run, the next run and several other runs are you going to say I was right? Good luck waiting for that billion dollar run. Maybe if they switch to pesos it will be possible. As for cash prizes who wouldn't prefer a cash prize except those unable to manage money for

Contacting Professionals After You Hit A Multi-Million Dollar Prize!
Sorry Tosser, I thought it was clear enough in the overall context of my post that I was referring mainly to the media hounding of a large jackpot winner. The reason that I referred specifically to $250 million+ was that it would be easier to remain anonymous with, let's say, a $45 million win. Because those are not as much of an intriguing story, I think that the press would have more of a whatever attitude to an anonymous winner. The large jackpots tend to capture the minds and imaginations

Mass. Lottery officials concerned about big revenue dip
I'm from MA. I have a Mega Millions season ticket on my desk in front of me, but that's all the MA lottery gets from me every year now. With increased train fare, increased property taxes, high gas prices, etc. I want to be in the game, but I don't want to spend more than $100 a year. The state has to realize that the lottery is an entertainment item that can and will be dropped when money gets tight. If they increase train fare $50 a month, people have to cut down somewhere else. I personally

Mass. Lottery officials concerned about big revenue dip
One of the most interesting parts of this article was the following: The steepest decline was in Mega Millions sales, which were off nearly 48 percent. (Note: The timeframe under discussion is the first five months of the state s fiscal year, which would be July through November.) Looking back at the size of jackpots: 2005 $315 million $250 million $170 million (last 7 draws for this run)

Are there any atheist/agnostic jackpot winners?
I would guess that the percentage of jackpot winners who are atheists, agnostics, Buddhists or Jehovah's Witnesses matches fairly well with the percentage of players who are atheists, agnostics or Buddhists or Jehovah's Witnesses. Most people have some kind of religion, so most jackpot winners having some religion is what I'd expect. Jehovah's Witnesses aren't supposed to gamble, so oyu shouldn't see many of them winning jackpots, but if 1/10th of 1% of tickets are bought by Jehovah's Witnesse

N.C. Lottery sales fall short
I would like to see the midday games as well; and also play the Pick-5 like how SC models it. I also think a Classic P6 would benefit a lot of North Carolinians with a game to call their own instead of following the leader with Powerball. Many people around here that I've talked to are very unhappy with the low jackpots thus far in NC's limited Powerball history. Granted, playing the PB is a terrible proposition, but sales spike when the jackpots swell. Right now, at $75 million, that's hardl

Ohio Lottery to ditch Lot 'O Play game over lack of interest
It's been many years since the Ohio Lottery Commission was player savey and this isn't the first time a $2 lotto type game has failed. If they believed people would play it because they think Lot 'O Play similar to the popular scatch-off Bingo games, the Commission doesn't understand why people like to play the scatch-off games. It's a known fact that more people play lotto games when the jackpots are high but without a solid player base at the lower levels, the jackpots will never grow high en

unclaimed Canadian Lottery tickets
No there isn't a list of unclaimed prizes. All lotteries after one year of the draw date put any unclaimed prize money into an unclaimed prize fund . This fund is then returned to the players through bonus draws and bonus jackpots in the case of Lotto 649 and Super 7. This past month there has been four large bonus jackpots for Super 7. For example, even though the $27 milllion was won last week; the jackpot is at $30 million for this Friday-- thanks to the money in the unclaimed prize fu

Odds Don't Change When Jackpot Goes UP
Just, Lottery commissions made studies that say more people play when the jackpots are high so they look for ways to insure high jackpots. Ohio went to the multi-state Mega Millions for that reason and I saw where your Florida Lotto has 53 numbers. Are people waiting for the jackpot to grow or did they hear about the huge jackpot through clever advertising? When I vacationed in Florida, I had fun playing the $5 Grouper without knowing the odds or the payoffs.

tennessee lotto 5
I respectfully disagree. Three times a week is enough; two times a week would not be. The jackpot has been known to hit one million on ocassions. The last large jackpot reached over 800 thousand. Going to five days a week would put a serious hurt on those larger jackpots for two reasons. Going to a daily game will 1) result in fewer tickets being sold between draws and 2) increase the number of winners to the point where the jackpot would hardly reach 200 thousand. I like bigger jackpot
