A good read for my Mystical friends
Fascinating article. I've heard about this before; back in the late 70's, Professor Jahn worked for several years with Yuri Gellar, who demonstrated telekinetic powers. He could move small objects across a table without physical contact, bend spoons with his mind, and claimed he could induce astral projection at will. The results of Jahn's experiments were astounding, to say the least, and his work with Gellar defies any logical or scientific explanation to this day. In addition to his other tal

MM Drawing for Friday 02-11-05
Tso-gali-I (Friends)I hope we didn't get go-i (grease) on our u-gi-da-li (feather) tonight with all these different number ideas...I feel all u-wa-sa (alone) tonight being the only one that went u-s-ti (small) with the numbers. What the heck , maybe I can bring home some of the ha-wi--ya-u-ka-yo-sv (Bacon) tonight anyway.I read an article where an ka-ma-ma (Elephant) is supposed to be good luck, so my Squaw, Lil' Dove went out and traded for one today. I had to move my Tipi away from the strea

Wyoming lottery bill barely nixed
What are you talking about? Did you read the article to the end?Rep. Dan Zwonitzer, R-Cheyenne, agreed. The premise against this bill is we must somehow save people from themselves, he said. It's not my job to legislate morality to people. ... It's not our duty as legislators to regulate the free will of our constituents. This is not a Democrat/Republican issue, it's about people's guiding principles. Some people are very serious about their opposition to gambling - in both the Democrat and

Record lottery winner's wealth cost him dearly
And the saddest part is that Jack still doesn't seem to get that he needs to take a look at his life and where it's going. Look at his last statement in the article. You would think that the death of your granddaughter would make you wake up and smell the coffee instead of trying to find a scapegoat to place the blame on.This is a good cautionary tale for lottery winners. You can bet that WHEN I win, the prize will be claimed under a company name AFTER I've seen an advisor and gotten my ducks

Record lottery winner's wealth cost him dearly
My comment is along the same line as fja. If there was a class taught called: Winning the Lottery, Do's and Don'ts 101, this article would be required reading. I too agree that it could have been written better but the moral of the story is well taken. It is just such a shame to read about what should have been a great once in a lifetime dvent for someone turn into a living hell for so many people and how many relationships (and lives) were ruined because one person totally was incapable and re

Record lottery winner's wealth cost him dearly
There is a saying: Sports doesn't build character . . .it reveals it.Lotto is a sport in many ways. For some of us the game is a challenge. It is a hobby that can be cheaper than bowling or golf and the rewards can be tremendous if we win. Most golfers or bowlers may win a trophy and a pat on the back unless they turn professional. A lotto winner can be set for life, if, and that is a big if, he keeps his wits around him.Jack was obviously a troubled man with serious self-esteem issues befor

Teach you to be Lucky! Yes! Me first !
good article i have read this before. i also like the fact that you can make your own luck by doing things for other people going out of you way to help others. Giving of your time and helping people less fortunite than yourself. Creates good karma. And that could come back to you as good fortune. Being selfish and not listining to others and or not willing to help in some ways could be like reverse karma. hence no good fortune will come your way. Luck isn't allways accidential. I have often bee

NY Gov. proposes new lottery games
. Either that or lessen NY Lotto's number field to 54 or less. Also the article said: They are now calling scratch-offs the crack cocaine of gambling. Of course he's calling for more of it --'let's get as many people addicted as we possibly can,' right? said Charlotte Wellins of the Coalition Against Gambling in New York. It's unbelievable to me that we have a governor that wants to balance the budget on the back of addicts. What does she expect? They haven't removed the sales of cigarettes ei

Mega Millions jackpot winner headed to divorce court
The article said, A source said lottery officials were served papers in connection with the divorce filing. Lottery officials wouldn't comment on whether the divorce action would bar them from making the payout. I thought he was getting around $80 million. Now it has drastically dropped to $60 million?Anyway, what does the divorce have to do with lottery officials making the payout? Why were they served papers in connection with the divorce filing? Someone please explain. I'm no lawyer, but the

Lottery riches are only one component of happiness
From the article: Richard Ball, a professor in Haverford (Pa.) College's department of economics, knows where all these people are coming from.Ball attempted to answer the money/happiness question in Absolute Income, Relative Income and Happiness, a paper he presented at the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies conference in Philadelphia last month. His findings? A person's happiness is affected much less by income than by marital status, health and the protection of civil liberties
