Michigan man scratches $1 million lottery prize
A Michigan man, who opted to remain anonymous, scratched his way to the top prize of $1 million in the Millionaire's Casino Instant game. The lucky ticket was purchased at D'Angelo's Party Store, 30604 Ford, in Garden City.A regular player since the Lottery's inception 33 years ago, the man said he didn't sleep and was in shock and disbelief after realizing his ticket was really a $1 million dollar winner. The man told lottery officials that he hid his ticket before cashing it in at Lottery Centra

any big winners? anywhere?
I am watching tv in Washington right now, a man found a bag of money TODAY outside a convenient store. It had THOUSANDS of dollars in it.It happens. When I lived in Grants there was an incident of someone finding a suitcase full of money abandoned beside the highway. They naturally put it in the trunk and went to visit some friends, told them about it, wondering whether someone ugly watched from the bushes when they picked it up and was going to chase them down to get the money back. They got b

If you won a lottery jackpot..........
Actually, I emailed the Iowa Lottery and asked them whether or not a trust can be formed to claim a prize, and this is what they told me: Thank you for contacting us. Iowa state law dictates that lottery officials cannot keep winner information secret. However, winners do not have to appear before the press or even show up in person to get their check. To our knowledge, only one Powerball member lottery currently permits winners to remain anonymous (Delaware). State lawmakers want the public to

Forming a trust to claim prize
Ok, call me naive, but why would you want to remain anonymous exactly? Wouldn't you WANT to share some with relatives? Couldn't you easily say NO to those who haven't spoken to ya in years if they had their hands out? I guess lawsuits would be the exception to braggin about winning it? Would like to hear your views on this. And I DO love the trust idea. I like to think I'll have all these new problems to solve one of these days soon! ;) Just thinking ahead...... also, I play in Virgi

(I think the most i remember was 6 draws in a row mostly high in GA) as for TN, NEVER EVER go the other way. lolIf

Delaware Lottery looking for $7.7 million winner
Well I hope that someone does claim this jackpot and put the whole thing to rest. In Dewaware one does not have to give their name as the whole thing is anonymous if they desire it, so the state seldom gets any publicity out of the winner. In the past couple of years, because of this, the lottery has even stopped putting any kind of notice in the paper that the jackpot had been claimed by someone. I wrote to them about this and they used the anonymity as an excuse for not doing so, though a fe

Mystery winner claims $7 million Ohio lottery jackpot
Quote: Originally posted by goldeneye26 on January 28, 2005I have two questions. First, how long does it take to set up the trust? And second, do you think the winner will tell anyone once he or she gets the money? 1)I would assume that it would depend on the speed and expertise of your attorney remembering he/she will want to rack up some billable hours. Still the way I would go2) Speaking only for myself I would not. It just doesn't make sense to go through the trouble of remaining anonymou

Mystery winner claims $7 million Ohio lottery jackpot
So the new thing for Ohio winners is to be anonymous. I can't say I blame them, though. I have always thought the whole press conference thing was a little silly. Do you really want everyone in the world knowing you just won a ton of money? No matter how nice you are, chances are that someone somwhere doesn't like you. By announcing your new wealth you are basically inviting people to bother and hassle you. For people who like the limelight, good for them. I know that when I win, I will
